Australian Server

Hi GGG, first thing I'd like to say is thanks soooooo very such for creating a free open beta of this game, truely it is at a level wich I'm sure D3 wishes it was.
Back to the topic: I would also greatly wish to see a aus/nz server being created as I currently drop out of games when in parties and moving to areas, this leaves me at a huge disadvantage and state of frustraion when playing hardcore or events.
I've tried the singapore server but until it's fixed it seems not to be an option due to the instability of the connection.
Also I would like to support this via the microtransaction but there is never anything that I beleave is worth purchasing. I know how hugely this game revoles around the no pay to play market, but I think adding xp boosters, rare drop% boosters etc, would greatly increase the players experience and still not give the money man the upperhand.
I also have many other "ideas" but I dare say this is not the place to diswcuss them.
Anyways Love the work you guys have done so far, hope to see it grow even more. "THANKYOU"
The fact of the matter is: the matter of fact?
Once the cable thing is fixed, I'm looking forward to seeing more Aus/NZ in the SG Gateway towns! It's always just me....and myself. So lonely ):

Seems ironic that a NZ game does not have at least an Australasian server. Damn our silly draconian and archaic internet laws...

I hope this game does well enough they can justify one soon.

If our redhead primeminister says in, we may have the broadband network thing happen.

Too bad telstra has monotony over most of the lines.

Australian here Sydney on Optus Cable

Singapore gateway is 350-500 ms
US 250-500 ms

I notice in the afternoons/night (local time) my latency will go through the roof 500-1200, during this time the game is unplayable. Gameplay wise this is a phenomenal game but the infrastructure just isnt there (I understand beta is beta).

Anyone know if/when servers will be launched in Australia (or the latency fixed)?
Do GGG have a blog or twitter on this type of stuff?

I will probably go back to D3 until this game advances but between now and then 100 other titles may come out and divert my attention.

I think allot of australian gamers would be happy to front up some cash on microtransactions to get a server here.

some of that has to be local. ie. related to your ISP and out of GGG's control.

here in NZ i get regular 200ms latency to the America gateway. it's not wonderful, but I figure my data is travelling a similar distance to yours so surprised yours is so high. sometimes mine peaks up to the 230's (and often spikes higher now and then) but generally never see what you're describing.

at the times you get high latency do you run any speedtest type checks to see if its for other connections? ie. not just on poe?

Well my brother died yesterday due to a 600ms lag spike on the US server at around level 35. Things just froze for about 30 seconds. Unfortunately this makes hardcore impossible for some classes.

PS: Thanks for sharing the info about the Singapore server.

Dude, not sure if you realise, but 600ms =/= 30 seconds.

If the PC froze for 30 seconds...I'd be looking at your PC, not your connection.

I have a top end PC.

Latency is around 200-300ms (sydney).

The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

I'll look into it, this is a possibility, reading a few other aussie lag posts I may have jumped the gun.

Anyone else on optus cable?
I take it the cable is still borked?
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
