QTE hate

so if the QTE event didn't prevent you from going back for the coin, you wouldn't have an objection to it correct? Like, if in Mario you can go do whatever you want but whenever you jumped to a new platform it was a QTE. No problem there?

ideally, there should be more than one way to get past a certain obstacle.
but if someone invents a QTE that does not deny my freedom of choice in gameplay - I would not have a problem with that.

however, QTEs and "walls" are - more often than not - used because the game does not have another option.

"we didn't code the part outside that window, so let's just kill the player if he attempts to go through it, instead of that big door we had glowing red, with 2 flashing arrows near it".

"press X to have Kratos raise the shield when Ares takes a swing at him. we didn't code the option to side-step and take Ares' damn head off. this fight will go on for exactly 3.5 more minutes as planned, and will end as planned".
