Season Five, Event 24: 1 Hour Cutthroat Party

This league has Cutthroat and Hardcore enabled, when you die to enemies of any type you will be moved to Standard league.

A summary of hardcore Cutthroat rules:
  • This is a separate short-duration league that has its own stash (as usual). At the end of the event, characters and stashed items will be moved to Hardcore.
  • There's a PvP damage multiplier because players start with a lot more life than they do damage. This multiplier will be adjusted substantially based on feedback from this event and others.
  • Players are hostile by default to players who are not in their party.
  • You can ctrl+click on the entrance to an area to use the Instance Management screen to manually enter any other player's instance of an area.
  • Cut-throat instances can hold a maximum of 12 players.
  • This is a hardcore league. When you die, you will be moved to standard league, you lose the normal experience penalty for your difficulty plus 30% of your current level. You also drop all inventory and equipped items. Your flasks, skill gems (even ones in your inventory) and quest items are not dropped.
  • If you were killed by another player, your lost experience is split among their party.
  • If you attempt to abruptly leave the game in a non-town instance, you have to wait 5 seconds and are unable to move or use flasks.
  • The grace period of invulnerability upon entering an area is 20 seconds. This should start once the player is mostly done loading.
  • Non-partied players only show up on the map if they're nearby.
  • There are no notifications for players joining or leaving areas.
  • Portals cannot be used until they have been up for five seconds.
  • You cannot apply microtransaction effects to items in cut-throat. You may dance and have pets.

what sense does it make that you loose 30% of your experience ... when its hardcore anyway and your dead?
Strongly dislike hardcore cutthroat.
Hateful post.

Yeah, good point. Makes no sense at all. Same as the lvl for 1 point. I think previous cutthroat races had 1 point for lvl 3.
Intellect is not a cure. Justice is dead. Fear, recrimination, innocence, sympathy, guilt, waste, failure, grief,
were things, emotions, that no one really felt anymore. Reflection is useless, the world is senseless. Evil is its only
permanence.
I am assuming they just didnt adjust the reward scaling for this event or too many people were just making lots of low levels to get rewards. What ever the reason I am sure they will take it into account for future cutthroat races in order to improve the experience.

In regards to the experience penalty: it is in place to let you know how much the killer gains. 30% lost exp goes straight to the killer.
It would be cool that you would be rewarded points for kills instead of level in cutthroat races
well if you got points for the kills then it would be a death match and not a race
as you'd end up with higher levels just chilling in the starter areas for easy points.
the exp reward means you'll want to hunt around your level keeping it somewhat closer to leveled playing field should be fun to watch the videos of those that make it to the docks lol

this is the reason for it:
"
Death penalty awarded to slayer:When killing a player, their death penalty is awarded to the player doing the killing.

the killer will receive a much bigger xp-bonus now
You will never be happy if
you continue to search for
what happiness consists of.
You will never live if you are
looking for the meaning of life.
Are there allready groups? I'm alone and afraid :)
Level 7-9: 3 Reward Points
Level 5-6: 1 Reward Point

no love for lvl 8?
