the same, renaming it doesn't work
Renaming does not help. Formally, this will use the Nvidia card. But in reality, would still be 20-30 FPS. This is due to the technology Nvidia Optimus. If you check High-performance NVidia Processor than all graphics calculated by nvidia card, but it appears on the screen with Intel HD. Because of this low productivity.

I also have this problem on my Lenovo G580.

Search on Google for "nvidia inspector". After running the program, click the Wrech icon to the right of your video card name (around the middle of the window). A big window should show up with all the game profiles of your video card.

Scroll down the list to Phantasy Star Online 2, then click the red X to delete the game profile. Close the program, and re-open your nvidia panel. The client.exe will be gone, so re-add it and this time it will not identify as the wrong game. Set it to high-performance nvidia card and you're good to go.

<3 you mate!
I knew my computer was being really slow with poe and I looked around forever trying to find a fix thanks man. Hopefully GGG takes care of this

edit: Looking back at this I cant believe how well my integrated graphics (Intel HD 4000) worked with this game. Much better than WoW and LoL did on the same card on a different laptop with the same card.

Hi,

i found there is a problem with the name of Client.exe and Nvidias
recognition for games.
This problem is for Laptops with a Nvidia graphics card and additionally a
integrated graphics chip.
Up to recently i was playing with ~20fps on my laptop.
Then i noticed PoE is not using my dedicated graphics card.

Even after specifically adding PoE to always use dedicated graphics, it didn't work.
Reason seems to be, that Nvidia uses a name-recognition for the exe-name and
for me lists PoE's client.exe as belonging to "Phantasy Star Online 2".
(Which i never even played before.)

A solution is to rename the client.exe to someting like poe.exe.
After doing this, my fps went up greatly (since it is using the dedicated graphics now.)
However, after every patch, i have to replace the poe.exe with the new client.exe, which is
cumbersome.

Also you may find that some laptop-users don't notice poe not using the dedicated graphics
and simply assume, that it is just slow (like i did for quite a while).

More about my spec if needed:
Spoiler

Packard Bell Easynote
Win 7
Nvidia GeForce GT 540M
Intel integrated graphics chip
Intel i7 quadcore

Thanks a lot!
It works for me too! :D
