Avatar of Fire

In my dreams I see a great warrior, his skin scorched black, his fists aflame...

.. and yet, he can't endure fire damage more than anyone else.

Anyone else see the oddity in Avatar of Fire not having a +fire resistance?

I mean my hands are *on bloody fire* but you hit me with fire; ouch.

Sigh.

GGG please give some +Fire resistance to this Keystone, and it would be awesome if it actually had an effect too. I have no problem in purchasing Fire microtransactions, you will probably note that I have bought 4 so far - but still, a Skill with such an awesome description deserves better treatment!

PS: Give me a melee weapon sound again please!

But it's what you fight fire with.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
Hehe true :)

But still, if you can wield fire with your bare skin, it follows that you must have a certain resistance to it!

Not suggesting that it should be a total immunity like CI, but something would make sense.

Edit: What would make sense to me would be a cluster of Fire resistance nodes before it, perhaps called Fire mastery and so on, they would increase your resistance to fire, showing your progression in understanding the element; which then leads to the ultimate Avatar of Fire where you've wholly devoted yourself to it.

What about a 3 nodes cluster you HAVE to pass through to get AoF.

2 small nodes : +1% max fire resistance, +10% Fire Damage
Disciple of the Flame (Notable) : +3% max Fire resistance, 50% Reduced ignite duration on self

Doesn't sound too OP to me, while still giving a real benefit

I suggest +2 max fire resist to Avatar of Fire
Does anyone actually really use avatar of fire? It appears to be the most underused master node in the game
Avatar of fire always seemed like a waste to me.

Only able to deal damage as fire, all other damage sources converted at 50% ratio to fire.

Why would you want this unless to stack a gigantic hit of fire damage for even more ridiculous burn damage?

I see it as something you would use for an ele dmg based build using burning arrow ele prolif

has anyone actually used it as such? It has to be a skill that has a BENEFIT for dealing fire damage while already dealing a reasonable amount of non-fire damage (significant enough that 50% of said damage is worth spending the skill point in)

All bow and wand skills can benefit from ele conversion, because they can use Weapon Elemental Damage, but not melee physical dmg or melee dmg on full life etc...
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

I've been using it in Domination. It is very strong. Very.

People always want it OP instead of balanced, nothing new. Avatar of fire is fine as it is.
