Fast Question

I'm bored of waiting for my gf to catch up to me in levels.

She is level 22, I am level 29.


If I join her, will it completely screw up her leveling?

I actually don't know the answer to this. There is a penalty for helping someone far below you, but I don't know when it kicks in. You're only seven levels ahead of her, so... there will likely be a small penalty. You will make the content very easy for her too.

If you have time, you could start a second character and rush to 22 real quick.

The short answer is yes. She will get greatly reduced amount of XP since you are higher level. I'd make another character and level it up to her level.
