Bandit PKers Hunting Season
" Your argument was actually accusatory and condescending. "If you are weak maybe you should reroll and save yourself of disappointment bla bla ..." I'ts stupid thing to say and it shows off clear ignorance. " I know that but carry builds have limited efficiency, further in game you go harder it becomes. Early merciless transfer is still not that bad, ofc, clearly not as powerful as dedicated build from level one, but some builds begin to shine past lvl 60, in that chase you are simply weak and you need group. And that does not mean that you don't know how to play like you implied, more like other way around. IGN STD Ajax_Deadeye| Nathaniel_Corwin| Itane_Shira| Tetra_Mayani| Arkanis_Gath

I was in a 3 hour party race a couple days ago in A2 and when we got to oak, 2 people voted help, and 2 people voted kill. The 5th person said "I'm helping oak. This is your chance to leave and not die"...about 30 seconds later is was 3v2 and we killed the two people that selected kill.
It was funny and entertaining, but in a race, I am there for points. I would have left and killed it solo if that was my goal. It was actually quite fun chasing down that leap slamming templar lol ign: Vixien

Does alt f4 not remove you from the game, saving you from death like it does everywhere else in "semi hardcore"?

I think either one of these 3 things should happen:
1)Remove PKing from the game completely 2)When people vote differently in the Bandit's quest, pause all the action, and flash a message saying "Player X has decided to join/defeat the bandits!" if someone voted differently than you. Then give the player a chance to escape if he wants (for example give him 5 seconds and allow him to use a portal), or give him a chance to fight both Bandit and the other one (or just the player) 3)Give players more info about how this can happen, and create guides, and impart knowledge on how to avoid it or lessen the blow and "surprise". So yeah, I oppose this mechanic, this is why: -People go to bandits to do the quest. Either help or kill. Most likely kill if you are in a party. The game gives ALL the indications to show you this IS the objective. Turning against a fellow party member in PvP is NOT the objective of that fight. There is NO indication of it whatsoever. It feels out of place with other stuff in the game. Why is PvP allowed in ONLY these places? Just because of the gimmicky "choose help or kill" feature? -Because of the above, "unsuspecting" players won't expect that, because, I repeat, it's not the objective of the quest to fight your party members. Nobody that is playing light-heartedly, or "casually", etc will notice the chance someone could kill them while doing a normal quest of the game. It's not cool to introduce the possibility of these players dying with their chars on Hardcore based on that. -It doesn't really promote a healthy competitive environment or community in the game. It promotes abuse, it promotes jerks and assholes and it punishes "unsuspecting" players that just wanted to play the game to have some fun in the way the game was intended to be played (i.e go to Bandit, kill Bandit, finish quest). This has nothing to do with the actual PvP mechanic, you can have a PvP ladder where everybody can have fun because everybody is on equal ground, everybody knows its PvP. That doesn't happen when PKing occurs. -If you believe it is okay and a good mechanic, then I still believe it's not correct to have it JUST in those places. Include this "have party members fight each other" mechanic in other places. For example, with loot. Like some other people have asked before the loot allocation options were put into the game, in a FFA loot allocation system, you could have people fight in PvP for loot that drops, winner gains loot. You could include this mechanic in other places if you wanted, you just have to be creative. But DONT include a new mechanic in just a single place, where it has no impact on the game whatsoever, and it only brings problems like the ones I mentioned above. ---------------------------------------------- The easiest option is (1). It's easy to just remove it from the game, nothing is lost. People who want PvP should play PvP, so it's not like they lose something by not being able to kill noobs in bandits quests. People who want to play the quest normally will have the piece of mind that they can do it normally in parties without either having to be paranoid as fuck, or without being a victim of it and losing hours and hours of work on a pointless death. However, if you really like the mechanic you can include (2). This way it's fair for everybody. If you want you can fight your party members and oppose the choice of others, but the others will get a heads up first, and can choose if they want to fight you or not. If they do decide to fight you, you are both on equal grounds (nobody catches anybody on surprise), so it's basically PvP with Bandits and thugs mixed in. This could actually be fun for some people. But yeah, this includes more work for GGG to include it in the game. It also has some problems I mention above (the mechanic is included JUST in the Bandit's Quests, where it has so much more potential if you can include it in other parts of the game). If none of them can be done, then that leaves (3). Make sure EVERYBODY knows it can happen. Make posts in forums, create guides on how to handle it, make SURE nobody can be ignorant to said mechanic. Also, for those that want to play the quest safely, include guides on how to minimize the possibility of being a victim of PKing. Here is my proposal for players to avoid getting PKed: When you are in a party and have to vote, DO NOT VOTE immediately. Instead, have everybody in chat first. Everybody should be aware that there is the possibility of someone voting against them, so everybody should be prepared. Also, have everybody post their char build. I.e link their items, state their stats, skills, and main build characteristics. This way everybody has an idea of what other players have, so they can prepare if they have to fight any of them. Finally, select the player with the lowest level, or the one that is decided has the worst build/gear/etc (in consensus via chat). Have this player be the one last to cast a vote. Everybody else should vote first, this includes the high-level players. This makes it so that the high-level players, and "good" ones (the ones with better builds), HAVE to vote with the rest of the players. The PKers will belong to this group, so they have NO CHOICE but to vote with everybody, so they can't go PKing anymore. There is a chance the low-level char will vote against everybody, but that's why he was chosen to vote last. Everybody else will be more powerful than him, and because of the previous chat will be prepared to fight against him, so he will most likely get massacred. Therefore, this also basically forces the lowest-levelled player to vote with everybody else. This means EVERYBODY will vote the same in ANY SCENARIO, so there will be no more PKing. Please tell me if this strategy above doesn't work. If it does, then I suggest spamming this in every single place anybody can, so everybody that wants to play the game "normally" uses it and can actually...you know...have fun playing this game. |

This mechanic is just poor design.
I just had 3 attempts of players "herp derp" try to pk me, and others, on normal. They get high damage low level characters and troll everyone. If we want to play pvp, there is an arena for that. There are cutthroat races. For all of you who are pkers, sincerely, fùck you. The only way to avoid pkers is, as stated before, tell everyone to vote beforehand. Now I just had an interesting thing happen. I kicked a pker from the party once the battle started. I got a weird sound to play. I don't know what happened, because I wasn't going to stick around for that crap. I mean, it's poor design like this that makes players even more frustrated with the game. To lose a character they may be just starting, only to die on a hardcore league. Because someone has nothing better to do with their time than troll you. "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence."

I think that when the votes are done for each bandit, it should just leave a window up for 5 seconds letting you know everyone's votes. That way you can decide what to do :)
