GG items?

Edit: I STAND CORRECTED! GG IN THIS CASE MEANS GODLY GEAR. I KNOW THAT NOW, NO NEED TO ATTACK ME :)

Hi,

the term "GG" (good game!) stems from PvP-Games like FPS or RTS and is usually used after a match is finished to congratulate the winner or to acknowledge that it was in fact a good game.

So... why the fuck is everyone starting to sell their mediocre to absolutely USELESS gear labeling them as "GG" sword, armor, whatever? How can a piece of gear even be considered "GG"?
WHAT IS IT SUPPOSED TO MEAN IN THIS CONTEXT?

Where is this stupid habit even coming from? This was certainly not the case in open beta...

Can`t we all just agree to stop using a term that has absolutely NO PLACE in an ARPG and is totally illogical to use here?

You, labeling your items of any kind as "GG" makes me ignore your offers completely as I am absolutely sure you are selling pure junk. And in 99% of all cases I am correct in my assumption...

And if you use "GG" because you think the buyer will never ever need another piece of gear and this itemslot will be "done", why the hell do you use that term on lvl 20-40 items?!?

gg can be "Godly Gear" too.

Actually GG was used as a descriptor for items in Diablo 2. It means godly good.

Really? Didn`t know that. But I never really played D2 online as internet was just not affordable back in the days.

And it doesn`t really explain why no one was using that term until a few weeks ago.

I saw it used sparingly during closed and open beta. It's just gaining steam as the game grows.
The point is that now you know the meaning and history of the term within the genre, there's no reason to take issue with it.

Same here! Another point of confusion for me was "twink." I'll bet you think that means "to min/max," right? Nope. It means "to put a strong leveling item on a lower level character," or "a lower level character that has strong leveling items," or "a strong leveling item for lower level characters."
