Here's what I really hate about this game

Fair points. I wonder if the developers would ever change rare monster drops as you seem to want. Personally, it doesn't bother me that much. It's kinda just a facet of how ARPGs are done.

There are some aspects of guaranteed reward for challenges overcome in PoE. Quest gems, of course. Quest flasks, now. And I think GGG was cautiously testing a step in this direction by greatly increasing IIQ/IIR on high-profile unique bosses like Piety, Dominus, etc.

It's not so much a guarantee that I want. It's rather the range that I'd like adjusted.

Currently it seems that the range for any drop is exactly the same in a given zone. The weights are different, a rare mob will have a much higher chance to drop an unique than a pot. But the range seems the same, meaning the worst possible drop from a pot is exactly the same as the worst possible drop from a rare mob and the best possible drop is likewise exactly the same, just different chances to get those possibilities.

What I'd like to see is that range adjusted. Where pots don't roll from rusty swords to exalts, but rather from rusty swords to say orbs of fusion. And where rare and unique mobs roll from say magic rusty swords to exalts.

I don't want free rares from every special mob. Rather I'd like those once-a-week drops to start coming from actual encounters with some risk rather than random white mobs or pots. Where if you find the worst possible item that could possibly drop it could have only come from a pot or a white mob. Where if you find that amazing orb or awesome rare/unique it could have only come from a rare mob or a boss.

So it's more of a reverse guarantee. Fighting bosses/rares you're not guaranteed anything good. But if you do find something good it's guaranteed to have originated from a boss, a rare mob or perhaps a large chest.
My vision for a better PoE: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/863780
While I enjoy the fact you can get some nice currency out of pots and random chests, I do agree that there should be some connection between quality of loot from a rare mob, and their difficulty.

While it will never be a perfect system, with any game centered around random loot, it's one of the biggest problems to tackle (the other one to me is the vision issue between fighting upwards and fighting downwards). It shouldn't be tooooo hard to connect a minimum rarity to known hard abilities on some mob types (multi-shot with anything with an AOE is extremely dangerous for example), or a sizable quality / quantity drop in an ongoing effort to make those very hard fights more worth while to take on. Things like a minimum number of sockets and links, even on a white item, could make it worth it, since changing a white into a +20% Rare isn't that hard and a good link layout is half the battle to me. An assured rare is another way to go about it.

But nothing is sadder than seeing a pile of trash that's not even worth picking up after a challenging fight (much less one that kills you).
Hi

They already attempted to give this game a drop buff problem is I get 7 rares and there all useless low rolled mods for a lvl 79( Still love this game but somedays it gets to you). I would prefer if we got great items and less of them as long as I am gaurenteed a decent drop more often then not.

Still playing Solo SF(Self-Found) GGG and nothing has gotten better since your firm belief everyone wants to party.

cheers
