[1.0.0] HALLOWEEN: The Full Evasion Trapper - Input needed

i died in nemesis (not with this build), and now i search for a new build and i can't decide if i should play this Trapper build or a EK Shadow :/ but dunno whats more viable i think i would have rly fun with both.

So is this build Nemesis viable?

(Nice guide so far)
This Trapper is wrecking maps. This is alot easier than using my Facebreaker.
Hi,

I just like 2 perform a ranger as a trap build too. the first thing i thought about was that i like 2 have extrem survivabillity. so i went for max block and evasion first an get the the trap abilities "by the way" but i dont know yet what i can expect from this build. dmg maximizing would only come from support gems. add and pen, zombies tank, conversion trap 4 extra fighters

lemme hear what u think :)

bump, can u answer my question on the top on this site :/
What do you recommend for Bandits?

It would be nice if you posted up a video showing your character in action.

Not the OP but I can tell you by looking at the passive, NO it is definitely NOT Nemesis viable. It is a TON of fun though!

OP, Grace is nice for the evasion and all, but what about something like Vitality? Once of the big drawbacks right now is lack of HP regen and unavoidable damage. This would help with that a LOT.

Glad to see so much interest in the build so far. Thanks for the response / feedback / advice / queries guys. Apologies for the late response (the usual IRL responsibilities, building a max block cyclone, new hearthstone beta key, kids, etc). I've tweaked this build further and am pretty happy to share the results. Thanks to some input from reddit and from you guys, I've mainly done the following:

- Re-specced out of the route towards static blows and more towards the life nodes just past ondar's guile
- Replaced grace with vitality
- Replaced sunblast and rainbowstride with rares with life affixes

I'm liking the new boost in life from nodes and items. The loss of grace does make me feel like I'm getting hit quite a bit more now but the presence of vitality means I can do without downing life flasks all the time. Mana is a big pain in the ass without my rainbowstrides, so I'll be getting the mana regen nodes near Clever Construction shortly. I can't say I'm missing the sunblast a lot which is a pity as I really wanted to like the unique mechanic. Maybe if it was more like Gravicius...

I'll update the OP to reflect the above in the next day or two hopefully.

To answer some of the queries posed:

Is this Nemesis viable?
I don't play Nemesis so don't take my word for it... but I think it can work when played properly. With good positioning, you can stay away from melee range for the most part and kite or circle around creep. With Ondar's Guile, kiting/circling makes you near invulnerable. With the life boost, you can have sufficient life to tank the occasional big hit or two. However, this build punishes you badly if you make a mistake. If you accidentally run into another pack of mobs while kiting, and you get stunned / frozen, sorry man, that's it. Also, because of your high speed kiting and circling, you are susceptible to desync.

What do i think about max block / evasion?
I like block as a mechanics in general. However, that means giving up on searing touch which is a LOT of dps. It probably will work very well particularly for survivability (especially with Titucus Span since you're gonna be out of melee range), but I'll need to hear from others how clearing speed is impacted without a ST

What about Vitality?
Tried it. Loving it. Still very weak compared to the other auras, but definitely provides the badly needed regen.

Do we really need Static Blows?
Yes if you can afford the nodes. Otherwise, go for lots of quality on Added Lightning Damage (up to 10% chance to Shock). With multitrap and up to 30 projectiles flying all over and ele proliferation, 15% chance to shock from gem and passives should suffice nicely.

Bandits?
Normal Oak's Life is very handy.
Cruel Oak is nice for bear trap, but is not needed since your fire trap will be your main source of dps.
Charges are nice and all, so maybe Merciless Oak if you're doing Enduring Cry, but for this build I'm sticking to passive. Probably a toss up here.

Gameplay videos?
I'll try eventually. Can't say I'm too good both with creating videos and with gameplay so hopefully don't embarass myself too much :p

What do I think of your tree?
heimlichHELD, i suggest taking the circle of life nodes above ondar's? Some of the trap damage nodes aren't that impressive so maybe I'd sacrifice some of those as that seems to be taking up a lot of nodes.
Dmillz, I was looking at Mana Geyser as well. Still undecided on that currently. It's either 2 nodes near Clever Construction for 40% mana regen, or 5 nodes for that and 24% max mana + 10 int. I'll likely take the 2 nodes near Clever Construction first and decide again what to do when I have sufficient points to respec into Geyser.
