I just lost my 38 ST Scion to this boss during phase 2. I had no idea what to do with the bleeding rain. I'm pretty mad that I died, but this fight is incredible. Now to figure out what I want to reroll...

This fight got me scared so much when he returns as a monster. I had to tp out to take a breath. But after all, I found pretty easy because I was a 2h marauder and got meelee on him, so the bleeding damage barely did anything. Lucky me.
Besides, I play on the worst pc possible ever. Got like 6fps and 260ms in this fight. The scenario is too god. That was the hard part for me. |

I played as Freezing Pulse Shadow versus Dominus. It was the best fight I ever had in a while. I never felt such a thing like nervousness while against a boss like this one. The voice of Dominus was absolutely BAMF-certified. The entire skills were just insane. The detailing of the map was fascinating to look at.
The end stage of Dominus was sort of easy as a FP, to kite around inside of the sphere and then avoid the blood-fog via teleporting away. The scenery before Dominus, against the few bosses that he decides to call out were really entertaining and really nostalgic as a Diablo II: LoD fan. Dominus' design was insane, especially those big gloves that looked so amazing on animation when casting the Discharge. Excellent work, GGG. It was hell of an intense fight. | |
Its just another sad attempt at promoting the mindless stay your ground and click click click type of gameplay by introducing an extremely gimmicky boss, who punishes glass cannons, that depend on high movement and dodge.
The bosses before the last? Extremely easy to avoid everything they throw at you. The last incarnation? You cant do anything, you sit there swarmed and charged by the boss, you die no matter if outside or inside of the rain. When one ability of the boss is so broken I fail to see it as an epic fight, just a catering to the more tanky builds. And why not, after all there is less desync when you stay and whack in one place. Of course the company would want to show as less of this big problem as possible. I died in HC to the last phase of Dominus on my first attempt, I thought it was a bullshit way to die.
All phases prior were easy and predictable just like every other fight in POE. Then they finally throw in an actual mechanic that you cannot know how to avoid based on any prior situations in the game and the only people who beat it first attempt blind are those that are really lucky to be close range and happen to stand in his protective bubble. |

I managed to solo him on HC normal just. Had to portal a few time when he was in his demon form because there was to many mobs and I didn't have enough dps to deal with it.
As for the bleeding rain, I hardly noticed any damage from that at all. Probably because I'm stacking a ton of HP regen. But yeah It was an epic fight, I'm especially happy of the way I killed him. It took 10 minutes or more but I slow burn him to death with ignite. A slow and painful death indeed. |

Wow, So many kudos. I thought the whole end was not enjoyable at all. I just wanted to finish it.
For some reason I was desyncing like crazy on the first level, maybe 10 deaths in the first room alone. Of course, that instantly ruined any joy I might have felt at the new level. I was finally so fed up with the diffiuclty of the mobs I just ran to the steps. It was easier, and I sure didnt miss any of the trash loot that was dropping so why bother? Its not like Ill keep the XP during the boss fight. We finally get onto the top and I cannot count the how many times we died. A few of the bosses got down to our portals and just one hit killed us before we even loaded up the level fully. Repeat x30. Finally get to Dominus. He didnt one hit kill like the 2 handed boss, but it was basically a joke how little strategy of any kind could be used when you die within 2 seconds of entering the portal. 2nd form. What a joke. My group and I were just saying over and over, "there is no strategy, nothing you can do, just run in hit him once (occasionally) and reload." Wow, what a blast. We were in lower to mid 70s. We were obviously outmatched and should have backed down.. but why? To go grind level 60's areas that were still too hard and get no gear and 5% experience? Is this boss supposed to be fought at level 100? Do you think you could tell players this somehow? Id like to know that its a must to max out maps before even finishing the game. |

" The totems he spawns are what I imagine Searing Bond would be if they had better damage scaling. Ooooh, I could dream a dream about that... |

This is my first real character, and I'm currently stuck on Dominus in normal(domination).
I have only faced him two times so far though, the first time I was learning the fight, the second time, I don't know what happened. I had his second form down to around 35-45%, but then my hp started dropping like I was in the red rain, but he didn't have his bubble up. Meanwhile, my level continues to rise because I'm still farming for gear with hp regen/life leech, lol. I'm now back in game.
