Had the same problem, contacted support, they said the following:

1. Login with your non-Steam POE client. If you uninstalled that, you can redownload it and copy your Content.ggpk file from Steam over to that directory.
2. Login.
3. Enter your unlock code.
4. Login again.
5. Exit.
6. Launch from Steam.

This worked. Of course, their login server is being overloaded right now, so YMMV.

I got level 2, then I linked to steam account. I want to play it!! :P
Waiting for a fix though, not willing to re-download it.

I'm having a similar problem. I have linked it to my steam, and i got my code, but every time i click connect, it says its connecting server, I'm about 40 minutes into waiting for it to connect to the server but nothing=

Baixe o instalador novamente do Path of exile! instale o jogo em outra pasta. apos isso , copie o PathOfexile.exe para a pasta C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile. execute este arquivo, que o jogo será lançado fora da steam, digite o codigo que voce recebeu via email. faça o login. sua conta foi desbloqueada. sai e entre pela Steam. voila tudo resolvido. Jogue e divirta-se. espero ter ajudado!!!!!
