I hope it's ironical.
This thread started bad, as there were no explanation or statements behind it.
It will end bad, since fanboys put on the well known hats and went on a crusade.
Actually this game is slowly dying, that's the truth. And this is quite normal. As long as ggg refused to make some greater improvements (crafting, loot, melee chars, map drops to enable end game) this made a lot people just quit. We have no time for improvements, they said. Working on new content they said. Meanwhile players left one by another. I hope official release will bring players back, but I doubt.
What is strange, is that ggg refused to make above mention improvements though they were needed by the veterans and zombie farmers, the majority of current population, to make them stay. A lot of them abandoned the ship.
What is stranger, all the efforts were put into the X day, which actually targets new players.
It's strange, because this aRPG genre doesn't have endless amount of supporters.
What actually happened, was they got rid off the veterans, which were in their hands, but are working on a imaginary millions of new players that would like to join the game. They know.
What I know is, that if they don't manage a brilliant official release, they could kiss their asses goodbye.
The only explanation for their behavior could be if there are statistics that new players are more likely to buy MT and support in first 1-3 months, which I believe is true.
We'll see.

Seems like every day I tell at least 5-6 new players who are complaining about the game in global to go back to D3. And I'm by no means alone, and there are always plenty of others who tell them the same thing. This isn't a very friendly or helpful community for new players. Not only is the game not noob friendly, but neither is the community.

They need to just stfu, quit whining, bitching, moaning, complaining, begging, and tough it out like the rest of us did. Oh QQ I'm level 30 and been using the same gear since level 20 and can't find any upgrades wahhh!!!

I hang out in Global 1, 5055, and sometime global 3. I answer questions as best as I can and help out quite a bit.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.

Someone must not have been around the last time they released new leagues...
Same thing gonna happen.
Be ready for the player influx.
I don't know about OS, never tried it.
What I tried was HC, from a scratch. Played Saturday and Sunday, there were permanently no more than 2 parties throughout the social panel.
Waited like 40 mins to gather players for cruel Vaal kill. Two joined : an incredibly fed summoner, which zombies melted Vaal for seconds, and a facebraker with BOR. Obviously they were not new to this game. Where are new players then, the millions of them? I won't believe an "all in OS/anarchy" answer.
