The stench of Blizzard employees... offends me.

Not sure what it is, but POE increasingly becoming popular (always been). I can smell Blizzard employees lingering around the forums. What does it smell like? Most likely Jay Wilson seat after not standing for 10 years.

Was this necessary?

No.

You are capable of better.
The thought of smelling Jay Wilson's computer chair....

Wasn't exactly a thought I wanted to have....
From the very first moment PoE became popular there have been stuff members of other companies in the forums. At beginning of OB you could see quite a few trolls, who obviously had a strong interest to divide the community and stur things up.

PoE was a surprise for the very big ones and it is still a thread to them. I dought, that Chris ever fully understood how much his game and his style and of course his success have been a shock to the biggest game companies.

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

We are talking about a small indie company, who announced a radikal different bussiness ethics than used by big companies. Everybody laughed and pronounced them being dead after 4 weeks.

Within 1 week after OB PoE had more than 2 million accounts. PoE is a constant subject of discussion in the forums and chats of Blizzard and others. People paid happily and spent sums of money they would never spent vountarily on one of the ripoffs . PoE managed to keep a stabile basic of about 90,000 - 120,000 active players daily and is still making good money.

The thread PoE is for the big companies is the success of their bussiness model. There will be other small companies, working with the same guidelines. There is at least two other games in early development who announced to do that. In short words: PoE presented an alternative bussiness modell that was very successful and could be the pioneer of a big change in the gaming world.

Thats what Blizzard and Co fear most: To be forced to change their merciless rippoff ( based on players frustration), cause people will have alternatives to play games of good quality and have fun without frustration.

Thats why they fear PoE ! The more success for PoE´s bussiness model, the nearer the end for blizzards bussiness modell.

Now you go and get ripped off from Blizzard as long as it is still possible......

Diablo 3 does not have millions of players, millions of people bought it, the active player base however is very low compared to the sales figures. The chats are dead, the ah is dead, its a ghost town.
