Ship Graveyard Cave Ruthless

I've died 10 times in a row because of the flicker strike/extra damage/gains power charges on hit guys. It's completely OP and I can't even kite them because of flicker.

I'm running a blood magic high regen and leech marauder

I'm also 3 levels higher than recommended. it's just not fun and extremely frustrating

Are you wearing lightning resist? The flicker strike is lightning damage if I recall correctly. Get a couple topaz rings and then see what happens.

No offense, but if you can't survive with a high Regen character, then you're doing it wrong.

With absolutely no relevant information provided by you.. here's what might be wrong:

  • Your DPS is so low that the enemies have more time to pummel you and your Leech is less effective. Alternatively if you have high DPS and a lot of Leech.. Leech is capped at a certain rate, so if you're depending on that extra Life coming in you might just be screwing yourself.
  • Your Life is too low despite high Regen/Leech, less life means a lower threshold vs Stun and status ailments like Shock and Freeze. Find some gear with +Life or invest in some passives.
  • Your skills cost too much, as a Blood Magic user, even with high Regen/Leech you need to mindful of your Life expenditure.
  • Your defense sucks. Acquire some gear with better armor and resists. Invest in some Armour passive nodes.
  • You're not using anything tactical to improve your situation such as Enduring Cry, Rejuv Totem, Decoy Totem, Warlord's Mark or Temporal Chains.

You told us nothing useful aside from high Regen/Leech and Blood Magic so we can't exactly pinpoint what the issue is. Again, these things are only possibilities of what might be the problem.

Likely a combination of these.

I'd just like to say a well leveled decoy totem OWNS! At lev 9 it can tank multiple melee hits from ruthless Brutus even (same later on in merciless). I've used the decoy totem "scouting" strategy in many areas including the ship graveyard cave, weaver lair, and western forest with the exploding guys.

Temporal chains and detonate dead work wonders as well. Can curse them to reduce their movement and lure them into an area filled with corpses and kite while they get gooified. This strategy works very well for the rare bears and rock golems in act 2 as well.

Agree with above. FS usually more of a problem with ranged chars, like my Ranger. I usually leave them until I over level by 2-3 in HC, and then proceed cautiously as they can block and stun lock you (I'm talking about you Weavers Chamber).
