PoE Vs Diablo 3 new expansion
" Intriguing story? Someone wrote a summary over at the battle.net-forums, enjoy it again. €dit: " Darker =/= better. I had no problems with the art style of D3, but the removal of the light radius and the corresponding shadows thrown in dungeons really killed the atmosphere indoors, and from what I have seen this stays the same with the expansion. An intriguing story is about more that the storyline as I already mentioned before a couple of times now. Even though D3's storyline feels a lot more intriguing as the one in PoE to me.
in·trigue [v. in-treeg; n. in-treeg, in-treeg] Show IPA verb, in·trigued, in·tri·guing, noun verb (used with object) 1. to arouse the curiosity or interest of by unusual, new, or otherwise fascinating or compelling qualities; appeal strongly to; captivate: The plan intrigues me, but I wonder if it will work. 2. to achieve or earn by appealing to another's curiosity, fancy, or interest: to intrigue one's way into another's notice. 3. to draw or capture: Her interest was intrigued by the strange symbol. " I tell you what I think: The new expansion's look will blow away PoE: http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&q=diablo+3+reaper+of+soulds+screens&rlz=1I7SAVV_enNL541&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=4a4kUv_GDMTAtQa3y4GoDg&biw=1280&bih=855&sei=5K4kUuG9EcH40gWE_oCQCQ#hl=nl&q=diablo+3+reaper+of+souls+screens&spell=1&tbm=isch&um=1&imgdii=_ Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Sep 2, 2013, 11:37:15 AM

" Yep, "I" fail because the country I've resided in my whole life unfortunately exists gigantic distances away from the servers and I am unable to resolve that problem without placing my self in extreme debt or a country where everyone has a gun. You used
intriguing [ɪnˈtriːgɪŋ] adjective arousing great interest or curiosity (something D3's story didn't) Your link doesn't work for me btw. What I saw from the addon reminds me of Immortal Throne from Titan Quest, which actually wouldn't be bad. However after D3 the exp pack will definetly not be a blind buy for me. |

" 2. To arouse the interest or curiosity of Is what I found and I said that D3 succeeded better in this compared to PoE, no doubt And the link works, must be something on your end I think... Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Sep 2, 2013, 1:09:40 PM

"no doubt" would mean it's a fact, which it isn't. Maybe you liked the way D3 presented the story better, but that is not the oppinion of everybody. PoE only gives hints, you have to use your imagination to close the holes. Not necessarily my prefered way of storytelling, yet for me it works better than a full written and well presented but bad story. Obviously PoE will never have a presentation as impressive as Blizzard productions have from a technical point of view, that's way too expensive to even be considered by GGG. However, if I compare the render videos and the overall story of D3 with D2, for me the older game is the clear winner. Take away the render videos and D2 presents it's story just as opulent as PoE, so for me the story itself is important, not how it is presented. Although in a H'nS game like D3 it was very annoying to click away the ingame cutscenes every freaking farm run, but that isn't what makes me dislike it's story.
Btw it's quite pointless to talk about PoE's story as long as Act 3 isn't finished. From what the open beta trailer showed, Dominus will shed some light on what's happening in Wraeclast. Link probably doesn't work because it's google.nl, it links me to the blank main page of the Dutch Google version. No problem though, I am able to do a Google search for Reaper of Souls myself. |

I had fun with the first D3 story run, because it was all fresh, even though it was cheesy. I paid attention to other stuff that was going on, like zone design, monsters, my own skills. It's the fact I had to repeat all those story lines every time I decided to farm started to piss me off. I bet few people were discontent with the story the first time around. It was all that shoving it down our throats all the time, all the bosses yapping too much. At least that made me hate the story. In my eyes it was not very good, but 90% of video game storytelling is weak and the game can be awesome. I'm looking at you Skyrim. Story in arpg is just an excuse to smash shit around. In true RPG, jRPG, turn based RPG you need a real story. I'm looking at the first Disgaea, Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, War of the Lions, Fire Emblem series.

" There is a virus called The pest of misreading, misunderstanding and wrong interpretations flying around in this community which has been infecting a lot of people I tell you! When somebody is infected with it he will misread one word or interpret it wrong and write an (often immense) wall of text based on that too. I meant "NO DOUBT" and I did not mean "THAT'S A FACT". I don't know how you comprehensive reading is but with "no doubt" I mean that I have no doubt obviously and not that it is a known fact. How can "intriguing" be a fact to begin with? It is totally subjective! Oh nice excuse for a sucking story: "You have to use your imagination to fill the gaps". Right then don't release the game at all, I will play a much better one in my imagination. It will probably also be a cheesy story with sucking and filling gaps ehh Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Sep 2, 2013, 5:54:20 PM
