PoE Subscription (Stop hating on the poor people :P)

Being a poor person is really hard in this game, when you look around the forum everyone has pretty supporter banners and in the game they have the Kiwi of which I'm supremely jealous.

I get the fact that they can't go giving everyone Kiwis and banners for not supporting the game, so I've come up with a more poor person friendly approach to take our money :P I would love to see a subscription option that would give similar benefits to the supporter packs. Now before all the supporters lose their shit and start flaming, here is my suggested subscription plan.

Cost:
-10$(Bronze subscriber), 15$(silver subscriber), 25$(Gold subscriber) and a 50$(Diamond subscriber) a month options.
-I'm sure GGG will allow you to have a bigger one if you contact them.
-Get the shit kicked out of you by your wife when she sees it on your bank statement :P

Benefits:
-an all new subscription Kiwi (preferably green :P).
-some shop points dependent on your monthly fee.
-a subscription supporter banner for the forum.
-know you are helping the best game in…EVER succeed.

Some notes on the benefits:
Due to the fact that you can just buy one month of Sub and then get all the benefits all benefits are lost once you cancel your subscription. However if you have been a subscriber for 12 months or more the benefits become permanent, maybe 6 months for the two higher tiers (Gold and Diamond subscriber).

Suggest, critique and flame please :D

Seriously? So just because I spend my 50 bucks before this option came up I wouldn't get to be a diamond subscriber? Also, how do you think all of the actual diamond subscribers would feel? Spent 1000 dollars on something everyone could get. If money is an issue but the supporter pack, and if you can't afford that maybe there are more important things you should be focusing on than forum titles.

Well firstly the banner would say subscriber not supporter so we would all know who dished out 1000$ and who just paid 50$, and i don't know how your math works but you'll either only have it for one month or you would pay at least 300$ to keep the title which can easily be changed so that its only permanent after you have contributed 1000$.

The reason i suggest this is I cant pay 1000$ now but i can afford 10-15$ a month, which I will happily do:D and i'm convinced it will help GGG make the game a bigger success

Pre-purchase packs can be upgraded over time. So, if you let's say buy a supporter pack for $15 you can later upgrade it for let's say Bronze pack for $35 (instead of having to pay $50). Are you aware of that?

I see no reason why people should be treated differently based on whatever pack or forum title they have. I'm sure GGG appreciates every $ they get hold of. Also some people are able to support with more $$$ than others.

I am aware and that's exactly what i am doing but how long will i have to save my 15$ a month to move from silver to gold or gold to diamond. I'm pretty sure that GGG would rather take my 15$ a month than wait the very long time for the lump sum when i have enough. Just better for cashflow, my inner accountant is coming out lol:D

I do however get the point he made about the diamond guys I'm so glad they donated 1000$ and wish that I was in the financial position to do the same however I'm not, so I want to support the game in the way that I can which is in little bits every month and if possible would like some recognition too:D If the subscription came with none of the benefits I would still do it after I upgrade my supporter pack and get my Kiwi:D

Why can't you just send them the $15 a month, Knowing that once you reach the level of the next subscription you'll get the benefits of it. Seems like the best of both worlds...With the exception that you wont have people running around with Diamond level supporter perks that lose interest in the game 2-3 months later and stop playing. There would be no way to distinguish those who supported the game with an early investment vs those who are loyally and gradually working toward the same goal.

Also Even at $25 a month, It will still take you 3 Years 4 Months to reach the $1000 level, the statistics for people still playing a game after that long aren't good. By then GGG will most likely be planning a new game, or at least upgraded version.

lol I think you will find that statement somewhat incorrect I still play Diablo II and its binn +-13 years now.

I think you misunderstand me once off payments will get the SUPPORTER benefits while the subscribers will get the SUBSCRIBER benefits. So even if you pay your 50$ a month for 25 years you will never get the diamond supporter title you will just have your diamond subscriber title and a shitload of store points:)

I think a recurring charge (eg, $20/yr or $5/mo) would be a good option for when the game launches/goes into open beta, if for no other reason than it would be easy for people to pay (as opposed to one large sum) and GGG would get some steady income.

Kiwis are just a nice bonus in any case. =p
