About melee versus ranged

And you're missing the whole point....unless you just take generic passives (which is a terrible idea)...there's no way a ranged and a melee character are going to have the same stats after spending the exact same number of passive points...

Melee get huge physical damage bonuses...melee weapons also have the highest DPS potential...thus you don't need to invest the same amount of passives to get the same effective DPS as a caster/ranged...

Anyone with a brain...then realizes that they can either make their character do more damage...or get more survivability (based on their current need).

Trying to reduced melee vs ranged down to 2 characters with the exact same stats is only possible if you IGNORE how the GAME ACTUALLY WORKS.

What if you can do more damage and have more survivalbility as range. It is not impossible for range characters to replicate the same defensive stats as for melee. Have a 6L LG + Kaom's Heart, and bam, you are one step closer to being a ranged tank. All you need to do is fill in the remaining void with anything else in mind.

Again, being a Frenzy Facebreaker character, I got both survivialbility and damage to sustain me in battle, but I seen ranged characters doing even better in both fields just because they are killing from a distance. They have gotten jumped before, but since their survivalbity is equal to mines or better, everything to them are toothpicks.

Honch, what's with the assumptions again?

I don't copy the builds, I make them.

I play a melee character and a very good one at that. Even then I still know there's a dispartiy, GGG know there's a disparity, Blizzard know there's a disparity before anyone even starts leveling or getting gear, yet the all knowing Honch must be right and myself, GGG and Blizzard are all incorrect.

That's pretty hilarious.

And Facebreaker's are a mid level build...they have a very high baseline in what they can do...but they are also extremely limited in their potential because of the dependence and limited availability of +physical damage on gear.

Also...I suppose it couldnt be possible that those ranged characters that "do better" than you...might possibly have better gear?

But you're right....no matter what your gear is like...all builds should do the exact same damage and take the exact same damage...sounds like a fun game.

And you're still ignoring the contradictory statement/terrible argument you made about THE ONLY way to make judgements about melee vs ranged is assuming they have the same stats....then you immediately acknowledge they wont have the same stats....

So your argument is based on a scenario that you acknowledge won't actually occur....brilliant logic man...

And the fact that you "make builds" and are having problems with melee is 100% expected...because you don't understand basic ideas in how this game works.

Facebreaker can be a endgame build as well, if you happen to build correctly.

24k DPS
16k AR (83% phy dmg reduction with 5 endurance charges)
78/78/78/-60 res
43% block chance
400+ life regen (with 12 charges, 7 frenzy, 5 endurance)

This build is mostly meant to be solo since it relies on having charges up. Being in a party can somewhat hinder my build. I have done up to 72 rare maps, but not having MF in my gears have kinda trumped my luck in getting 73+ maps.

I do use this for Lunaris 2&3 and up to 69 maps.

Your stupidity really does speak for itself, so there's no need for me to continue here.

Did I say it wasn't viable endgame? No I didn't...In fact I alluded to it being strong with very little spent....

It just caps out very quickly/easily on potential damage.

Low/mid level build to me means that it's pretty cheap....and again...that's why FB are popular right now because the most expensive items are going to be BOTR (3-5 exalts max)....and jewelry.

That should totally compare to a low life Soul taker build that has close to 100 exalts worth of gear right?

Congrats on avoiding answering how you resolve your logical disaster.
The fact that you can't understand why you need to assume they have equal stats to make a fair comparison is just hilarious to me that's all.

No, you just confused me how you phrased it. I get it now. Most of my gears are self-found, and I am still trying to find a way to upgrade my jewels since they lack life, but most would cost 10+ exalts by having the combination of max roll life, res, and add phy dmg. I do not have that amount of currency atm. I am also trying to find an upgrade to my shield as well, but I feel it is still good enough atm.

And I am still trying to find a way to implement

without messing up my res count, and actually getting to 83/83/83 res.
