About melee versus ranged

in fact the group has problems to keep up with my melee guy.

now what? nerf melee dps? jesus ...

OP sits in a nutshell and doesnt realizes it.
played and equiped to level 82 in 3-4 days. 40k aoe dps and thats not the top end by far.
just a vid where i show a mate the advantage of aegis. watch my dps uncharged.

ES/CI build and no party, melee is more then just your melee character.

You want to be rude again and tell me that I live in a nutshell. In other words telling again that I'm just imagining the disparity while it is acknowledged all over the forum.

In APRGs with a balanced Melee/Ranged correlation Melee usually hit the hardest and Ranged usually hit more critical strike or inflict more critical damage OR can penetrate armor. In Path of Exile you'll see none of that.
Yes, ranged can clear faster, but Melee can end up 1 shotting bosses range would have to kite for a long time. Things like Temple Piety most range can only beat by off screening, though it also takes a superb melee to be able to beat her. Personally, I think everyone feels like they don't do that much damage in large groups because monster life is increased so much. I hate using my ranged in large groups because it feels like I do soo little damage, even though I know that is not the case based on solo clear speed.

Melee one shotting bosses? I've never seen that and if any, melee damage is not superior to ranged damage at all.
Furthermore it is exactly in parties where you can clearly see the disparity, where ranged character are still one shotting monsters and melee is not. And not only are they still one shotting monsters, they are also still one shotting entire screens of monsters something that melee cannot. Ranged damage is in general superior over melee damage...

I hardly ever see ranged characters kite, the monsters are dead before they reach the player or they are distracted by totems/minions and die a little later..

Its common knowledge that Aegis Aurora can make a melee that tanky. It would be far more impressive to do it another way other than a well known shield that's arguably over powered.

Its not that you don't have a point but I also think your ignoring some valid points from the other side. The ranged verses melee disparity issue is not contingent on whether a good melee can be made. Its whether or not ranged have it JUST as safe with JUST as much damage. There should be an advantage to being melee as opposed to being ranged who doesn't have to stand within range of the monsters.

You don't have to kite in groups with everyone contributing damage. Game is easy in groups.
