here's a very recent story for you guys. happened yesterday:

a random guy sends me a friend request. I accept.
he tells me he's completely and hopelessly stuck, and asks for a few Chromatic and Jeweler's Orbs.

I'm thinking "scam", but I still give him 4 spare Chromes I had lying around. as well as 2 Jewels worth of Alterations (didn't have any Jewels at that moment).

got back to my Merciless Ledge Witch farming thinking "oh well got scammed", then suddenly he sends me a PM thanking me, and telling me the 2nd Jeweler did the job.

I even had good RNG Karma in the two runs I did afterwards :)

moral of the story: help others. don't be ***holes.

Shadow: That was fun
Why would anyone give you something ?<Removed by Admin>

Darn... I've been scratching my head for days trying to figure out how to liquidate enough currency to afford a 5L Lioneye's in standard or anarchy... with my wealth spread out over standard/anarchy/hardcore... when I should been asking if someone has one they could just give away instead, or sell me for a single exalt or equivalent...

Sounds like a good way to avoid the trade chat which I abhor...

I mean seriously, I asked if anyone had a Hellbringer or Rainbowstride I could get, because I have like no currency and it seemed like everyone who was active in chat wanted to beat me up over it by the way they all hounded me for 10 minutes for asking such a (appearently a really terrible) question...

This community is really starting to stink.

Not to mention I've been scammed before... (which was partly my fault, but still...)

Now that I've vented, you can all go back to hording your exalted orbs...

P.S. I'm not annoyed/grieved that I didn't get the items I asked for, but because of everyone's attitude about anyone who thinks to ask for an item.

EDIT: Someone did end up giving me one of the items (Rainbowstride) i asked for and by request I am mentioning it in my OP.

There are different chats for a reason, it's to separate things and help players be able to communicate about what they want to communicate about. It isn't a crime for you to ask in global, it's just illogical - and once it's "allowed" it will quickly become everyone using global for everything, which destroys the chat. Just use trade, not sure what the issue is.

Yes.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
Does your Dad know you took his credit card and bought the exalted pack?

It's nerds hiding behind a computer...of course they are going to be turds.

Do this experiment:

Go into global chat and say something like, "I can't wait to get to level 99. It will be great to be the max level. This game is so much fun!"

You will be absolutely lambasted by tells (as well as in global) about what an idiot you are.

Just the way every gaming community is and you can't really do anything about it.

My advice is to turn off global and just play the game. You'll eventually get items and it's easier than seeing 10000000000 "price checks on level 24 daggers."
