[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port - 30/12/2018 status update

"
Hey, just installed this yesterday and it seemed to work fine. Today, however, it got stuck on the loading screen between Lionseye Watch and The Coast. I tried to put the computer to sleep but it turned off instead. Now when I try to open it I get a message saying that "Your pack file has become corrupted. Currently the only way to fix this is to delete Content.ggpk and download it again by running the client".
So do i have to delete everything? Or just one section?
Can anybody help, please?

Sometimes weird thing happens..
right click wrapper>show contents>drive c > program files > Grinding gear games > path of exile > delete the content.ggpk
Is my old mac capable of running the v5 version?

At the moment the v5 wrapper won't start.
i rebooted the system already as mentioned in the FAQ.

OS 10.6.8

3.06 GHz Intel Core Duo
4 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 9400

i kept the activities open :
there appears just one process for the v5 wrapper using 5,9mb
its running for around 2 minutes before it shuts down.
but no icon appears in the dock and it won't start at all.

----------------------
i am used to run the 4.0.3 wrapper, but since the last patch, the game is randomly freezing and the only option is to close the wrapper and start the game again.

Anyone else experienced this propblem too?

It used to work, the 4.0.3 should not be working anymore (not even start), unless they changed something recently. Possibly I can take a look once my mac is back from repair. As for the random freezes, should be better with newer wrappers.

BTW: I hope you are not trying to run the v5 directly from DMG archive ;)

I went where you said to, but I cant seem to find that file. Is there something else it might be called?

EDIT: Never mind, got it

NO, i installed the v5 normally and copied the POE-Folder from the 4.0.3 wrapper into the v5 wrapper.
It won't start.

The 4.0.3 worked pretty well until this week.

The 4.1.2. worked too, but had problems with the "sarn slums" area and some similiar master missions and the map "ghetto". Just crashed loading those areas.

Hello dear reader.
I actually have a problem, I can't make it to the launcher :/
I followed the instructions of the tutorial, downloaded the "recommended" version, unpatched it, copied into applications and double-clicked to open the game but nothing happens.
Since the game can be sometimes long to start, I waited 30 minutes, but still nothing.
After several inefficient reboots, I found the /tmp file and "took care of his case" but the problem remains.

I know where to find my logs but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to give you.
I'm on 10.7.5 with Intel HD.
I don't know if it's relevant but I unsuccessfully tried to add -gc 1 to my Wine EXE Flags bar.

Hopefully, you will be able to help me fix this :)
Good day sir!

If launcher does not appear at all, there might be something intefering. For example razer drivers are known to interfere with wine. Please post the LastRunWine.log (more in FAQ in 1st post - Where can i find the logs )

I got lost in my numbering :/

If it does not start at all, please upload the lastrunwine.log so I can check why it doesn't run. As for the 4.0.3, there was some changing in game recently, possibly GGG fixed something and broke something else... As my mac is still in repair, I don't have a means to verify.

I updated my OS from 10.7.5 to 10.9.5 and re-downloaded the v5.
The launcher successfully appeared and it managed to download the game entirely (yuuuhuuu!)
But at the first loading page, game froze because of a "Failed resetting Direct3D device objects" bug.
I followed the instructions on 1st page, rebooted and tried to open PoE again.

Launcher appears but it is stuck at "checking resources".
This is a bit strange because it worked the first time... and I got through all the "checking resources" phase.

on a second attempt, the v.4.0.3. had the same problem like v.4.1.2. and the result was :
Connection failure : "unable to connect to patching server"

The LastRunWine.log was empty this time.

------------------------------------------
my log of the alpha-version. It won't start at all like mentioned in the last post.
Seems like i have a problem with the name of the directory?
