The Large Chest Story

A story in two pictures of my experience with large chests:





I've personally never gotten anything good from a large chest...has anyone ever seen a really good drop from one, perhaps with a picture to prove to me that these aren't just giant cases of sadness?

I've got a 6link weapon from a large chest during the last 1 month race, but that was quite unusual

That's a decent chest drop - it had a rare in it. I once invited some guildmates to share the good fortune when I found a chest, waited and partied up... 3 blues dropped.

And that isn't my worst ever - that came recently, in anarchy (Cruel Fellshrine)... 5 scrolls and an armorer's scrap. Nothing magic, still less rare. I was less than impressed.

When I first started playing this game, coming across a large chest was seriously awesome.

Until I opened it.


It's sad that the chests in this game are pretty lame.

I don't know what you are expecting, but other than whites I always get maybe 2 - 3 blues and wisdoms and portals... oh and sometimes a chrome drops.

I'm happy to get even 1 rare from a large chest. I always hope to get something worthwhile out of them, but up until now... nope.

In closed beta Large Chests were always at the end of some instances like Dread Thicket and the Great White Beast's. The drops weren't better back then but at least there was a guaranteed Large Chest in there.

At some point they decided to randomise the appearance of Large Chests without making the drops any better. That's disappointing.

I would rather have large chest spawn less frequently, even by quite a bit if so be it, but make it so that when you do see one you get excited because you know good shit is gonna fly out.
Chests should be like, when you see one you are gonna make sure you have 6 ppl in the party. Send a message in global, "at large chest first 5 to respond can join." or make a public party. Because people want to get in on it. Like really rare but really exciting.

Right now it is "Oh a large chest, its gonna be crap... Oh look, it is crap." and move on.

Not even exciting at all.

I open more than 1000 of them lol...

and of course so many craps but it is Rng :)

Still when i see one its like the brown color when you drop legendary even if you know its gonna be something bad i love to see those things.
Maybe some rework on them to increase a bit the chance to loot on them or add something specific

I was shocked to see a unique drop from a large chest in the Catacombs.
