I'm really surprised at how many people have such difficulty with this boss, it's nothing but a micro/awareness challenge.
Kite his ranged attacks for 2-3 minutes kill his minions so you have clear ground for kiting now kite his melee attacks for 2-3 minutes Now you know all his abilities and how to dodge them - you should be set to win. No special tips or tactics necessary. Only prerequisite: be able to take 1 laser and have enough HP/armour to not get gibbed by the chaos snipers. my HC duelist died from this boss tonight :/ got 2 shoted by the laser beam. I should have checked the forums before trying this boss. I did not know that bosses could One shoted in Normal Act2

bit of a necro, but its fine. Your best bet against Vaal is to either party up, or TP alot. I use a summoner, so I dont have as much an issue with him, but other classes need to learn to kite and dodge. But most important....TP.

OK, so weird thing happened. I had the pyramid piece to get to the battle with the vaal oversoul, i was in a party with a friend, he either struck the killing blow, or picked up something, no i can't get past that point. I can't leave and go to the next city, because it tells me i have to kill the vaal oversoul, but i no longer have the piece to get there again. So I think I'm stuck. Any ideas?
