Is Hardcore enough punishment?
I was watching a stream today and i was informed that when you die in hardcore mode it just changes it over to softcore.Is it enough punishment for those "mlg" players?

Yes it more punishment for players since it also tax on your will power to not play that class on softcore. Real hardcore player will create another class on hardcore. Its excruciating pain to see that you can still play your class but the real drawback is that its on softcore.
No food in fridge... Beer it is.

If you're a hardcore player, that character is dead to you anyway. Most just delete the now-default character, but others like to keep it as a reminder of how far they got. It is plenty punishment.
Consider this: If you got to level 80 with your hardcore character, that's a lot of hours of gameplay right there. When he is finally killed, you lost hours and hours of your life and any evidence of ever having such a character, aside from whatever videos you recorded. It's just sad, really, and only frustrates. At least in this system, it's still harsh and functionally the same, but it has that added bit of solace in knowing that at least the character isn't totally gone, even if it is now useless to you. |

Softcore=default league right?
Also if you want more punisment say to your self f i die in hardcore , i will throw my computer out the Window, then if you die you are truly punihed, especially if you didnt open your window. |

" even more so for the guy outside that it hits, as you live on the 10th floor. on topic however, this is the only reason I have a character in hardcore, I don't feel any extra "thrill" or whatever playing dangerously, or whatever reason hardcore players prefer to play that way. Yeah but what is the point of hardcore at all?Can't people just say "if I die on softcore mode I will throw my computer out of the window"

I see your point, only way to get around this problem is for one of the devs to put a program in hardcore which activates if you die, when it activates it would send a bomb threat to the CIA/FBI/MI5/Local police from your IP adress, then your computer would blow up in a ball of fire and burn your house down.

" The purpose of the separate league for hardcore is not to separate play as much as it is to separate the economies. What people acquire and the rates that they acquire it are significantly different between the two leagues. " But, I believe, that difference is entirely due to the player base rather than any sort of behind-the-scenes shenanigans on GGG's behalf. Hardcore and default have the exact same drop rates, difficulties and quest rewards. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

" Hardcore has built in item sink: Death. That's what he meant I presume. I confirmed that I am still in HC league. Then I died.
