This is the reddit post of the maker about his page.
This was an awesome read. Here's my take away from it:

1. The Eternal Empire was built on superhuman soldiers with gems surgically implanted in their bodies that granted magical powers. This led to arrogance, abuse of power, and ultimately these people didn't understand how the gems worked. Magically modifying people with something you don't fully understand is a bad idea. Putting an unstable immoral genius like Malachai in charge of the operation is also a bad idea.

2. Voll decided this whole gem thing wasn't working out and he was sick of the empire bullying his people, so he got together and army and took them down. He wanted to get rid of "Gemlings" because over time these metahumans became corrupt and used their power to do messed up things. Good idea. Buying Malachai's story that he could create a machine to eliminate all Thaumaturgy from the empire instead of burning him at the stake when he had the chance? Bad idea.

2. Summoning and talking to "dark entities" or "gods" for dangerous knowledge is always a bad idea. Dark entities tend to give people information that initially seems cool, but ultimately encourages them to do things which are bad ideas.

3. Using magic you don't fully understand to try and become immortal is a bad idea.

4. If implanting one gem into a person causes them to eventually become unstable, taking a hot chick and implanting a whole mess of gems into her to make her a demigod who is supposed to solve all your problems probably won't work out either.

5. If someone comes up to you in a future expansion and says "This whole socketed gems in items thing is cool, but you know what would be even better is if we took this scalpel and got you drugged up on this operating table here and attached some gems directly to your spine", your answer should probably be "No."

Yes, that is indeed a nice compilation of info on the history of Wraeclast. The reference at the end is especially nice to show where the info came from.

Now all GGG needs to do is tie us (the exiled) into Wraeclast and explain why it has been turned into a Devil's Island for convicts. All we know is that we have committed several crimes on the mainland and was caught, tried, and sentenced here as punishment.

GGG has missed out on a great end game reason to keep us grinding to level 100. Are we stuck here for the rest of our lives? Is there no hope of ever getting off this god forsaken island and back to our former life? This is a big failure of GGG to make our punishment be worked off by grinding to level 100 so we can get pardoned and can leave the island and return to the mainland.

I've stated this before and it's worth repeating (IMO) that we all need a compelling reason to want to grind from the level 80 soft cap to level 100. We need to be set free upon reaching level 100. Our build should be permanently retired and put on a freed exile ladder for all other exiles to aspire to. We need to be able to see the level 100 build and his/her passive tree plus the time it took to reach level 100 so that the 99% may learn from this master exile on how to survive Wraeclast and eventually get the hell out of here. The ladder would be ranked according to time played to reach level 100.

Come on GGG, give us a real ending for PoE. Make a cinematic to make us feel that we have accomplished the near impossible by sheer determination and fortitude and with enough grind time to reach level 100! PoE would be so much better if there was a proper ending. It's so obvious I can't believe no one at GGG had come up with this as a great ending to PoE.

We need better from GGG.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I discovered that page a year ago, and I've been revisiting it forever in case it gets updated. I love a good story, and this compilation is a great source. Everyone should read it!
