Also, I've heard that there will be 4 acts...will you ever add more, or are you planning to do something else regarding adding more content? perhaps you were planning on adding more and more 'maps' (the ones that can drop) as a way to add more content, instead of additional acts... but i'm nowhere close to end game yet, so not something I have to worry about yet.
I think I've read somewhere that they were planning on adding an act every 6 month or something like that?
Let's not derail this one, people (although Chris has sort of 'ended' it. ;))

But a quick answer: I believe they'll add content as long as they can afford to. There is a ten-year plan in play, and I personally see a lot of wiggle room when it comes to acts beyond the 4th.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

Interestingly, with my play style I often hit mobs near me and out of my reach (even to the side) in the same swing, because maybe the game doesn't know where I am?

I'm sure I can get this on video if needed.
In one interview said 7 or 8 acts is possible in several years time.
Sorry to interrupt this little diversion, but I wanted to comment on the thread a bit :P

I feel the problem with shift-targeting isn't so much weapon range, as weapon arc. You need to aim very precisely with shift-targeting, since there's no lock-on and the swing arc is very narrow.
When using Cleave, I've never had issues hitting stuff while holding shift; it has a really wide arc, after all, and actually hits pretty far from your character. Of course, this varies a lot with desynch; the client might think the enemy is closer than it is on the server, and that makes a huge difference here. But anyways, yeah, weapon arc.

I don't really think this is a matter of weapon arc. As I described in my OP the weapon seemed to hit the mob everytime. I was aiming precisely and posted this after extensive testing with various 2H weapons just to be sure.
Also server desync would result in the rubberbanding effect after a while which didn't occur to me so that's not the case either.

Now when the topic is derailed by Chris fans asking about acts it doesn't matter, just wanted to point this out for the sake of us melee users. Luckily it is now being worked on so hoping for the best.
