Whats the best class to play if ur new?

I guess the 'warrior' type is a marauder since its strength based, so in the stereotypical sense its a warrior class. But yea, I am in pretty much the same boat as you. I've been watching Kripp's stream and a few Youtube videos here and there but I don't have much theory on whats best to start with. I think part of the beauty of the game is you just dive in and see what works !

Well the normal characters pure one stat like witch, marauder or ranger. the other hybrids can be quite hard for starting people. and now basically it depends on your skill and what you prefer. witch - caster , marauder - melee, ranger - bow user.
Of course you can create even ranger melee and other combination but like i said hybrids arent best for starting people :)

You will die eventually until you get used to the game mechanics with each of the five classes. Even if you get used to the game mechanics, you are going to die, probably while running maps.

There is no "best class" in Path of Exile. My very first toon was a melee duellist with no particular OP build. I have survived until hitting 64+ maps as a noob.

Stacking some HP/ES and armour/evasion will help in the earlier phases of the game for each class. But the only force you need to overcome the endgame is your own gaming skills + luck. Running in a group of 3-4 people also helps while learning the game aka noob phase.

Also, you can create each of the five classes and try. Levelling a class to level 20-25 takes only 2 hours of a casual run. During hardcore races, killing Merveil and finishing act 1 takes around one hour. This means in one week of casual gaming, you are going to learn some of the strengths/weaknesses of each of the five classes. There is no need to rush.

So many posts asking the same question "Which class is best" There is no best class, there are good builds. Any class can be powerful or garbage based on the skills you choose. I look forward to screwing up at least 1 character before really grasping the hang of the immense talent forest. Best of luck to you, hero.
