Eternal Orb Speculation

Any ideas? Possibly rerolling individual stats on rares?

Infinite ammo... no wait... equipment not getting worn out... no wait... ok I've got nothing

I think of Eternal and think of maps. Probably because of the Eternal Laboratory. So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it has something to do with maps.

Or it makes you eternal, ethereal, IMMORTAL!!! or not...

Hmm, good point. Maybe it has something to with making maps about XP and not loot like Chris I think had mentioned before--some way to get more xp out of maps.

was this mentioned in the patch preview or somewhere?

Make a map reusable perhaps?

Good call. I'm going with this one. Although I'm not sure if I would like it. It sounds awesome at first, but it also means that at some point there will be close to perfect items around.

I'd wager it randomizes the modifier tiers of an item similar to how divine orb randomizes the rolls within a single tier. It would of course be weighted against high tiers.

Let's just throw out random ideas until we find it.

My guess : It's an orb that upgrade an item to the next similar type of time, explanation/exemple :
if you use an eternal orb in a Golden plate you will get the same mods applied to a crusader plate, if use it in a crusader plate you will get an atstral plate.

By this way you could use aan item with good mods eternally..
