Devs - what is the chance of a link between any two sockets?

There's a long debate raging in global chat about this. We assume it's 50/50, but there's a contention that there's an algorithmic bias built in by GGG towards not having all links joined...hence the relatively low incidence vs expectations of 5l and 6l in 5s and 6s equipment.

yes it was a sad today when i had to down grade my chest armor to get the 4 soc link i needed, however i do like the point to making it not easy to get them all linked. it wouldn't be much of proud moment for you if you could do it all the time. and for all the screaming i did today at the screen (LOL) i know once i get the right piece i want i'll forget all about the crap i took trying to get it. thats one of things that draws me to this game, the feeling u get when finely make or get something u really wanted.

4 link is pretty easy to make.

5 link is not much harder.

6 link is very hard, and -should- be very hard to get.


This is explained elsewhere, but 5 link is only hard to make if you try to do it on a six socket item.

about 50 orbs average is needed to be sure you get 5 sockets linked.

300 for six socket.

Never used more than 8 for a 4 link.

Do you mean it's easier to 5 linked-socket on a 5 sockets gear than on 6 sockets gear ?

Last time I tried to get 4 linked sockets, I spent 13 fusing without success, so you must be lucky.

My highscore is 46 fusings to get 4 linked on boots.

My lowscore is 1 fusing to get 6 linked on bow.
