Did you read it? Download AVG and do a full scan and look how many tracking cookies you have on your PC. They don't have anything to do with google. Tracking cookies are tracking cookies, they happen.

Apple's Safari has far stricter tracking restrictions than any other major browser: By default, it blocks third-party cookies. That's a problem for ad networks like Google's, which rely on those cookies to measure their campaigns and to enable some ad functions.

Google admitted using a technical maneuver to evade Safari's default settings. The problem, pointed out by Stanford University researcher Jonathan Mayer, was that Google's workaround went much further than Google apparently realized.


"The Safari browser contained functionality that then enabled other Google advertising cookies to be set on the browser. We didn't anticipate that this would happen," Google told CNNMoney at the time. "We have now started removing these advertising cookies from Safari browsers."

This should bother you unless you like being a little advertisement-reading drone.

I find it amusing Google's excuse is that they didn't "anticipate" it would work so well.

Right.

I used to use Firefox. But with the last updates it has recently become a lot slower (over the last few years).

This annoyed me, and I tried Chrome.

It is lightweight, minimalistic, fast and very nice. Everything Firefox used to be.

Firefox with adblock.

I know I should switch to chrome, but I won't simply because there should be SOMETHING google doesn't win at.

Firefox because everything else sucks.

Chrome because it's absolutely the best browser, in almost every way.

Google can do whatever they want with whatever ads they want, as long as they continue to provide me with the best search engine, the best browser, the best email, the best phone OS, the best this, the best that...

They literally do everything best :P and they do it without me noticing they are getting paid... at all.
