first LLD build - need some advice/feedback

Base class: templar

*slightly revised removed crit added dual curse

i havnt done any low level dueling yet, but ive been theorizing a build that would use all three elements and with lots of shocking/chill/burning dmg.

my main skill would be FP and it would be in a heatshiver 4L helm, id be using cold to fire/ LMP/FP/added lighting dmg.

my weapon of choice would be a searing staff with a linked out fire trap, and maybe molten shell. ill most likely get an eye of cyula/wanderlust boots, and i was thinking of using a cloak of flame for my chest piece for the increased chance to burn. that leaves me with 2 rings, a belt, and gloves to get the rest of the stats ill need (still TBD)

id be using elemental weakness for a curse which is fairly obvious when you think about the kind of build im trying to make.

im not really sure what other skills/auras ill be using but ill figure it out eventually, one thing im curious about is if ill have enough mana regen to sustain a 4L FP.

ive got alot of knowledge about merc pvp so if you have any questions about that i can help ya out, but as for LLD any tips/tricks would be appreciated.

I would recommend using bear traps in tandem with fire trap and freezing pulse, cuz if u have no way to avoid / cc a melee, youll be lucky to survive 2 shots.

however, I wud strongly recommend addin a cold or fire pen gem cuz most ppl have capped resists and wardin pots
and the mana problem depends on the class ure going
u shud first look into an approximate guess of how much lif/es ull have cuz ull definately be lackin in resists n tankiness if ure certain on heatshiver, claok, staff and wanderlust

its definately possible but itll be more suited for 3v3 than 1v1

ill have about 160% total mana regen if i dont get any on the rings, but yeah heatshiver might not be the best helm i could get but theres only one to to find out. and ill probably end up using bear traps too, everyone else does already XD

If you are sure about the Searing Touch, the Templar would be an obvious choice as he has access to some staff block nodes, especially Whirling Barrier, which grants 10% staff Blockchance. Otherwise you could have a pretty hard time against melees...

if ure relyin on burning dmg, u shud just ditch added lighting dmg and replace it with chance to ignite
also, since ure using a staff, no matter how much crit u get from ur passives, ull still be lacking the %crit chance required to make use of elemental statuses to their maximum potential
id just recommend u gettin tankier nodes and relyin on chance to ignite for the burning dmg

my thoughts behind added lightning dmg was since i have static blows i wouldnt need to rely on crit as much to get reasonable shock stacks, im not sure exactly how LMP FP + added lightng dmg works but if each pulse has the same 20% base chance to shock id say ti could be worth it if i could consistently shock people which is a great dmg boost for all dmg.

dnno. usually the shock durations rnt long enuf to make a diff. ull have to see how fast ur cast speed is

i was considering going out to EE and rotate arc and FP but ive never played a build like that so it would take some getting use to. that would really help with all the people who are max resists too, how common is it for LLDers to be overcapped?

not overly common to overcap
and EE is hard to run for 1 v 1
