Validating with every launch (Steam)

Strongly doubt it has anything to do with what server we're playing on as you only choose that after the game is launched.

This is an issue between GGG and Steam. Something has gone wonky there. It's no coincidence we all report the same experience.

When the game is running everything is perfect. Having a great time, with this great league.

For those who struggle with the Login screen saying there is a new patch you must download.. just spam Enter a few times. It will let you in after a few tries.

It's definitely something funny going on between Steam and GGG because I downloaded the stand-alone client and there's no issue with it. I do still get the message that there is an update available but that can be ignored.

Also from South Africa and having the same issue, having to wait 15+ mins everytime I launch is not fun.

Have also reinstalled and no change, might swap to another server and see if this has any affect.

Will update if it worked.


UPDATE!!!

Still have the issue when i launch, but found that if you just select login a couple of times you dont need to validate the game.

I think the validating files part is limited to Steam but even with the standalone launcher it is saying there is an update that needs to be downloaded, which you can get past by clicking login multiple times. All happened with the latest patch. Hopefully they sort it out as the validating files is really annoying each time you want to play.
Having same issue on SA server. 3rd time today....
Spamming Enter after the message in-game has worked for me, but not every time.

PS: I just want to give kudos to GGG where it's due -- the SA servers are incredible. I'm on 1ms ping instead of 200ms 😁

Oh hell yeah, it's the only Arpg game i have been able to play with a decent ping. Definitely huge props to them for providing a local server for us, it is very much appreciated.
If you check the log the moment this happens it says: "Marking steam content as corrupt in order to force a recheck of the patch", maybe there is a problem on the steam server files. Also it only happens when I connect to the SA realm if I choose any other realm it logs in no issues.
