Allow players to choose wich part of the skill web they want to begin.

Right on character creation, an "Advanced" option, wich allows players to choose wich skill web they want to begin with (Witch, Marauder, Duelist, etc) to improve customization a little further.

Make It happen, GGG.

It would indeed be great customization, but i think it would also mean the end of this game. I could start next to chaos innoculation and have it on level 1 without a detour. I could just start right in the middle of two health and dmg clusters or some important nodes without taking the less usefull ones.
That would totally defeat the purpose of character classes.

Think he means playing a duelist for instance but starting at marauder tree for the strength/life not being able to start at CI :)But i agree that kinda defeats the whole purpose of classes then.
CI at level 1 isn't a good example.

Anyway, I like it as it is now, if I want to start as a witch, I choose the witch. I think similar thing is going to be available one day - the alternative character models.

True, but my point is it would be incredibly hard to maintain any balance with such a system.
Maybe I misunderstood, but I felt like he meant you choose a node on the passive tree (based on available class nodes) and it would say "Ranger" and you'd know to continue with ranger since you liked the passives around him. Not being able to start at the ranger node as a witch.

You sure did. This topic has been broached more times than I care to count but don't worry about it, it's not gonna happen.
I like how it is that a Marauder will *usually* be some sort of melee build. There's the freedom to make cross-class builds but at least there is some common ground: Witches are spell casters, Marauders are melees, Rangers usually wield a bow...
That...wouldn't feel right. A Marauder that starts...as a Witch-rauder? Ranger that's a Templar? Nah.

If they come out with character skins to make you look different, that would be suitable, but starting out somewhere on the Skilldrasil that you shouldn't be without a reroll, pass.
