Experience loss on death - very controversial design.
I get frustrated when I die. If it is particularly bad I will close off for a bit. After a bit of a grumble, I do come back. Isn't death supposed to be frustrating. What is the point of success if failure is not a deterrent? The loss of experience is a drive not to die. I actually wouldn't mind a small penalty on normal as well...

I don't feel this is a bad mechanic at all. Seems well thought out if you cannot actually lose a level just the exp in that level, i don't see an issue with it. Beats the D3 method of potentially losing all your gold that you farmed for days for - seriously a bad pack of monsters would run you anywhere from 10 to 300k if you are stubborn like me and won't stop until they are not breathing anymore. Experience is going to happen anyway, the faster you get it, the faster you have nothing to work towards.
I think as far as death penalties go, there will always be complainers who feel that it should be different because they are going up against a boss/pack/monster that they do not understand the mechanics of and just try to blast their way through without following the game design for it. There is a game design to each and every monster, whether it certain resistances you need, not to get hit at certain times, things to avoid, damage you can sustain and survive, the lists can be rather long depending on creativity but they are all beatable eventually without deaths. Play this game for a few months/years and the monster you are dying to now, you will beat in a very fast time with no deaths just due to practice. (Unless of course you are D3 devs and change the pack/monster design weekly so that players never know what you are going up against but in all my years playing games this is the first time i have ever seen devs stealth change pack damage on a weekly basis and it is why so many people are now jumping ship and finding a new dev team to believe in. I myself have chosen you guys and believe my faith and trust has been well placed.) “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

There is already another lengthy thread about this same topic on the front page of this forum. Do we really need another?

Agreed, already a thread on this. Please post your comments there.
Thank you for the feedback of course but the boards are becoming cluttered with multiple threads on the same topic. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."
