1. Because there hasn't been a big patch lately.
2. Because the wipe is coming. I mean, I have absolutely no desire to play EVEN THOUGH I want to play so bad. But the thought of just losing all my hardwork at this point kills my enthusiasm.
3. Because we're sick of bug testing and know we'll be doing a lot more of it once OB starts.
4. Because it's summer and despite the fact US schools are out, people have things to do. For one, work. I'm sure the age bracket for POE players (or Diablo fans, in-general) is much higher than most games. People just don't have time.
5. Lots of new games continue to come out every day.
6. Because creating an account doesn't mean you have a beta key. Of the 500 people playing, for all we know, there are only 10000 beta keys out there. I'm sure it's higher than that, but we have no idea what 500 represents in terms of population. Five hundred is also a decent number when you consider D3 right now has under 2k players in public at a given moment in time, and that Skyrim, at its peak on launch week, had under 80k players playing. The population of play of at a given moment of a non-sub MMO is not that high. F2P games like TF2 come in at less than 30k players at any moment, classic games like CS:S on Steam only show 10-15k players at a given moment. And since we're talking about "given moments" - understand that 500 people playing != 500 playerbase, people log on and off constantly, every second.

I think that sums it up pretty well ... :) thank you.

Still, the community into the game is GREAT. Helped me everytime I asked a question.
