How many Path of Exile Acounts?
|
Just curious to see a rough number of how many accounts have been made.
I see there is 17k Facebook likes. so I'm guessing there is around 25k accounts? any ideas? |
|
" That's a good guess, though I have heard it's more like 250,000 because of the huge number of people who created more accounts to have a higher chance of getting a beta key. |

Well I think u should wonder how many players are playing this game lol

There is ~390 000 PoE Accounts atm.
I expect 500 000 when Open Beta hits (or shortly after) and around one million until end of 2012. |

Facebook isn't representing anything.
Just like Twitter and other shitty social sites. |

I don't know the exact number but it's certainly in the hundreds of thousands. Of course creating an account is free so that number doesn't necessarily tell you a whole lot about PoE's popularity.

Just do a wildcard search for accounts.
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
First in the credits! |

" Would indicate over 390k accounts, at ten per page. =^[.]^= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

if so much account were created, then why only 500 ppl are playing in the game?

1. Because there hasn't been a big patch lately.
2. Because the wipe is coming. I mean, I have absolutely no desire to play EVEN THOUGH I want to play so bad. But the thought of just losing all my hardwork at this point kills my enthusiasm. 3. Because we're sick of bug testing and know we'll be doing a lot more of it once OB starts. 4. Because it's summer and despite the fact US schools are out, people have things to do. For one, work. I'm sure the age bracket for POE players (or Diablo fans, in-general) is much higher than most games. People just don't have time. 5. Lots of new games continue to come out every day. 6. Because creating an account doesn't mean you have a beta key. Of the 500 people playing, for all we know, there are only 10000 beta keys out there. I'm sure it's higher than that, but we have no idea what 500 represents in terms of population. Five hundred is also a decent number when you consider D3 right now has under 2k players in public at a given moment in time, and that Skyrim, at its peak on launch week, had under 80k players playing. The population of play of at a given moment of a non-sub MMO is not that high. F2P games like TF2 come in at less than 30k players at any moment, classic games like CS:S on Steam only show 10-15k players at a given moment. And since we're talking about "given moments" - understand that 500 people playing != 500 playerbase, people log on and off constantly, every second.
