January 10 Screenshot of the Week
We've posted this week's screenshot of the week. It shows a somewhat contrived trade occuring between two players in town, to illustrate how our item linking technology works.
The next development diary entry will probably be posted tomorrow. Last bumped on Sep 6, 2011, 11:25:47 PM

That looks awesome! Hey, I was wondering, in the post you say that you drag the item into the chat window, right?
Would it be possible to change that functionality to something along the lines of holding Shift button and left clicking the item that the player wants to link? Something like that, rather then dragging the item to the chat window? Just a suggestion really, but in any case thanks for the update! Anyways, I can't wait to see the new developer update! Happy Days Abound.

looks great guys, cant wait.
" Are you thinking of something like a trade value equalization? e.g. Player A wants to trade gem of frost (value 10000) Player B wants to trade a brutal club (value 6000) if the sum value of both of the items wanted to trade has a difference of more than 10% (1600) as there is in this example, the trade could not be completed without a cash or item addition? very nice upgrade... but in a game in which gold basically doesn't exist... how do you value items...

Thanks for implementing a very useful feauture. I really get used to that.
As for the screenshot; check this old screenshot of the town from november the 29th. http://www.pathofexile.com/gen/image/gallery/NDJfb3JpZy4x/977bb22f50.jpg And compare it to today's screenshot. It's very clear GGG improved the lighting and shadows a lot in the last 6 weeks. Great work guys. Keep it up! @Silver I know that you're used to WoW and other MMOs' shift linking but I would like dragging more. It's like "Windows" :D He who fights with monsters

Chat item linking is very useful feature - it's nice to have it in PoE. Great work!
@ permaximum I see no difference with lights / shadows. I see no difference with town objects neither, which is something I'm starting to really dislike! It would be hard to have dynamic game world, that's true, but it's not true it would be so complicated and hard to move / remove / add just few objects around the town and update scene on every server maintenance. If those two wounded / exausted guys don't go better with time, I'll report GGG to Health Department for not taking care of guys' conditions :o)) "I am The Banisher, the ill will that snuffs the final candle." - Seal of Doom (MTG)

You should definetely check your eyes. This forum doesn't let me to post images in posts but here's a comparison link for you.

IMO, it's about contrast. Camera position might have influenced it - less light from fireplace into lens.
