anyone else think they wasted lore with lake of kalandra?

So first of all i totally dont care about lore in PoE but even i feel dissapointed that they wasted such an iconic character in path of exile the mirror of kalandra HERSELF! and what do we get? some stupid bird appearing in some map who says few words and then take off...THATS IT? thats the entire interaction you get with the most iconic PoE character can you imagine the potential this character had? they could make entire league involving her at all times with you something like sentinel for example or make her into some mega oooba oooba boss in some big expansion or anything else than making her into some bird who say few words to you and thats it....such a shame

As a lore enthusiast, the last bit of good lore we got was the introduction of the Envoy. As the game progressed in the jumbled mess it became, they just said fuck you to lore as a whole. And let's be honest, why bother? I'm sure the story creators are talented people, but when the players of your game just skip it makes no sense to waste the time on it.

Is the bitter old bird lady pretty dumb as a concept? Sure, but most of PoE "lore" is pretty dumb. If you try to care about the lore you are just in for massive disappointment, it's mostly incoherent nonsense.

This Kalandra herself admits she is trapped in a reflection, and you don't for a second consider it is because -she- is the reflection of Kalandra?

I'm not sure you're looking closely enough.

I stopped paying attention to PoE lore years ago, after I found out about Maligaro's gay relationship with his slave Raulo (and subsequently getting torched by Voll for it). Everything has its place, but that's a bit too out of place for a hack and slash ARPG for my tastes. The quest to seek out more PoE lore ended there for me lol.

After the absolute lack of lore the exarch and eater got, I'm seeing the books on Kalandra's story as a significant progress.

The NPC memories could really have had more than one or two paragraphs in them. I expected a new line per map as a progressing story, so that has been a disappointment.

Can you blame them when the general attitude tiwards lore can be symmed up in this quote by some streamer:

"You couldn't pay me a million dollars to care about the story in a game where numbers go up".
