Deeper skill gem leveling.

I don't really mind the grinding - I just want something to grind for, gem-wise. They could at least implement some vendor recipes for skillgems, most gems are so pointless right now. Why should I bother to pick up a dual strike without quality, when I can get unlimited amounts of them by just restarting the duelist class?

I don't really mind any of the gameplay. I never feel like I am grinding, even with the 10 or so characters I have and all the systems in play right now. I just don't have to put much thought into my skill gems besides clicking the little + sign when it levels.
I'd prefer if I had a little more thought going into if I want to press that + sign or not.

There used to not be a choice which had the immediate result of people complaining that they leveled and couldn't use their gear any more. The current system is a reaction to that (with the little progress bar in the upper right added very recently).

There is optimization and planning to be had if you are using off-color skills on your character, and there are a few skills that are almost never worth leveling up (Detonate Dead springs to mind). Lastly, it can be hard to trade a high-leveled gem to someone that would need to hit endgame just to be able to use it (or blow through a dozen scourings deleveling it).
