POE Heading to D3 Land...please reconsider

1. This game should have the "jewel" system from Diablo 2, set to magic only (rares not possible). If you want to turn your six-socket armour into some ghetto version of Kaom's, you should be able to. That would open up some more interesting choices: do you want this support gem or +life? Do you want to support faster attacks for an increased mana cost, or get a much smaller boost to attack speed (on all skills) for free? More choices = good things.
2a. Vendor formula: full set of uniques -> Divine/Exalted/Mirror Shard, same way as full set of rares -> Chance/Chaos/Regal. 20 Mirror Shards makes one Mirror. 2b. Increase unique drop rate. Result: Inflation on the things that aren't currently inflating; probably increased, not decreased, exchange rate stability. As an added bonus, self-found players have a better hope of actually getting exalts, etc. 3a. This: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/318229. Make solo map play as rewarding as group map play. 3b. Rework map affix system so that the affixes are better balanced against each other. Maze is OP, actually making the map more difficult is UP. 4a. Gem quest rewards need to be reworked to more adequately reflect common, in-class builds. Almost everyone takes RMC, so it should be a reward for every class at least once, possibly more. 4b. 5 of any gem -> Random Gem (itemlevel = lowest itemlevel of input). Random Gem is essentially a quest item that turns into a random gem (lowercase) of the appropriate itemlevel when it hits your inventory; this way you don't see what you're getting prior to confirming vendor; has same chance of quality as random monster drop. Would be good for getting world-only drop gems, and doing lots of normal Hillock kill cycles wouldn't get you very far with the formula. If you fix drop rates for regular joes, the economy's just going to go further down the drain because of multiboxing.
You can't fix drop rates without killing the cancer that is multibox. |

"First off, it's botters you need to worry about, not really multiboxers. I hate to tell people this, but the "multiple witches wandering around" videos you're seeing are likely bots on identical scripts, not multiboxers; ISBoxer gives smoother performance than that. Second off, the main problem is comparative inflation rates. The problem is not: "Wow, the price of for a stack of 10 Chaos is really dropping on the RMT site;" we don't care about that. The problem is: "Wow, the conversion rate between Chaos and Exalt is really getting worse." There are two ways to skin the cat: make Chaos Orbs (etc) inflate slower, or make Exalts (etc) inflate quicker. Setting up game systems such that all commodities inflate at about the same rate may not solve the botting issue, but it will provide more resilience against it. A good post, so well written I abandoned my similar post.
Instead I'll just lamely go: +1 The game is unrewarding, trading is abhorrent (Let's spam WTS for an hour), Solo players are gimped. IGN: Kulde

I may suggest something radical: get completely rid of trading. After that, focus EVERYTHING on creating a solid, engaging solo self-found experience, then a party self-found experience (balancing both) Then try to come up with a trading system (different than the actual one) that doesn't need to change anything from the engaging changes made to self-found to be balanced, but is also a rewarding mechanic on its own in moderate amounts How to design the "new" trading system after that? Well it depends on what changes you make of course You can do anything you want though. You can limit trading in some ways. Simple stuff would be limit trading to 2 trades per account per day (for instance), or limit the amount of currency traded. Those are "bad" solutions though. You can come up with anything you want, from maybe having specific trading "posts" in specific areas/towns somehow, or activate trading with some in-game way, or just change the actual trading bit somehow. As long as it produces the previous results (is balanced and still engaging in certain amounts). |

" I agree with this, which is why I think there should be vendor recipes through to and including exalts. That would, as it does all the way through to fuses, tie all the currencies to a common inflationary basis. --C |

" apparently there is a vendor recipe for exalted orbs... but it's probably ilvl 75 + like the new regal recipe or something. Julius's path of exile wine bundle for mac here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/48708/page/1

if you're referring to this, its actually a fake post by the OP. To my knowledge, there are no known recipes for exalteds, ilvl notwithstanding. 1337 21gn17ur3

" I wasn't referring to this but to hearing it has something to do with uniques. If it exists those that know it are keeping it secret. Julius's path of exile wine bundle for mac here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/48708/page/1

"That's my suggestion. From what I understand, it hasn't been adopted yet. Might have to try it ingame, but I'll need to find some uniques first.
