Ancestral Cry can't exert Riposte Attacks

Riposte has as Tags:

Attack
Melee
Strike
Physical
Trigger

Description of Riposte:
Perform a deadly Counter-Attack when you Block.

(Important Part of the)Ancestral Cry Description:

Exerts the next 8 Melee Strike Attacks you perform

Made all the matching Words/Tags Bolt ... in my humblöe Opinion it doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever, that Riposte isn't exerted.

This is not a bug.

Triggered skills aren't used, cast, performed and so on.

Well the Skill description CLEARLY states otherwise... so either the skill is bugged or the description is bogus and therefore bugged, but something is definatly bugged here!
Those tags don't mean what you think they do:
"
This is extremely incorrect. Gem tags do not indicate which modifiers apply to something. That's not their purpose, nor could they be adequate for that purpose.
Gem tags exist to classify gems into groups, primarily so we can give "+1 to level of socketed TAG gems" and have that mean something. They also help clarify the types of skill, such as which skills are curses.

This isn't a bug. As has been stated already:
"

"
Using: Triggering a skill does not count as you using a skill.[3] Therefore, effects that specify "when you Use a Skill", "when you Cast a Spell", "when you Attack", etc. will not work with triggers.

You do not perform the Riposte. It is triggered. No warcry will exert any triggered attacks.

Well then GGG should 'fix' the Riposte Gem Description ? All i am saying is, that the Ancestral Cry and Riposte Gem Description combined don't make any sense.

Trigger is not really "you"

Also GGG like to hide important info in help text by pressing Alt . But the game is so complex that the long game mechanic explanation is scattered in official forum or reddit or sometime paraphrase in the wiki

They both do exactly what they say they do though.

It's just that triggers are automatic and don't count as you performing an action, using a skill, etc. It doesn't matter what the trigger is or what its source is. If another mechanic requires that "you" do something to interact with it, it's not going to work. There is nothing new about this, and it was clarified by GGG years ago.

If it's really that big of an issue, you might want to post in the Feedback forum and suggest that they update Warcry gems to state that they can't exert triggered attacks.

Guess this can be closed .... GGG moved this post out of Bugreports so this obviously isn't a Bug, not that they said so ... they simply moved the post, but who cares ?

Definatly the first and last time i am writing something close to a Bug-report .... all i got was awnsers by other Players that were only backed up with stuff from Player made sides (like the wiki) so no ty!

Guess that the Duelist gets a Lesser Poison Support Gem as a Quest reward, but he can't buy it afterwards is working as intended as well ... otherwise it wouldn't be in the game ... i am just to dumb to understand cryptic descriptions and reasoning ...

"Use" is the generic term for, well, using a skill. You cast spells, you attack with attacks, but in the case where something works with any skill use, you use the skill (this also applies to skills that aren't spells or attacks, like warcries).

Triggered skills don't count as you using a skill (or casting, or other more specific use term), so will not count towards this.

Per GGG, since player knowledge of the game apparently isn't satisfactory enough.

Your post got moved here because it is not a bug, and the Gameplay Help area is almost exclusively players helping players. Sorry if we aren't good enough for you. /shrug
