Game has become unplayable on my rig, I need help building a new pc able to run this game.
My DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/jPuhYT6r
My pc is four years old, back at the time when I bought it I could run the game smoothly at 120 fps at 2440x1900 resolution, every single league my performance has gotten worse and worse, to the point that a few leagues ago I had to cap my fps at 60fps or my computer would become a toaster with 100% fan speed, every league I lost more fps to the point where this league performance is the worst. This league I was running maps at 20-30 fps spikes with many invisible things, the performance was so trash I was loosing the will to play very quickly and mapping was very unpleasant, I have been barely playing this few weeks waiting for this last performance patch to arrive, but low and behold my performance got worse instead of improving yet again, outside of having Runescape graphics 90% of the time my game now spikes to 10fps constantly, yellow T7 maps are unplayable on a fresh start in SSF without any kind of juicing (no sextants, maven passives, scarabs, deli...) I doubt there is any solution other than buying a new PC but i did post my DxDiag just in case. At this point I cant play like this any more, its killing me inside. I just want to know what Case, Power Supply, CPU, Heatsink, Motherboard, Memory and Graphics Card should I buy in order to run this game smoothly again. When You die on Softcore, you lose experience. " AMD 5800X CPU, 16 (minimum) or 32 GB fast ram. nVidia 3070 or 3080 GPU and 1 TB NVME Gen4 SSD. PSU would be 800W Gold or Platinum. |

" Sadly not yet since I can't get the GPU in Denmark yet (sold out). But that is the pc I will get a.s.a.p. My clan leader have the nVidia 3070 GPU and prvious gen AMD CPU and he is doing fine in PoE. Last edited by HanSoloDK#4843 on May 21, 2021, 9:44:59 AM

OP, ignore this gibberish.
It's even uncertain if the aforementioned 3k setup will improve your gaming experience. PoE is known to lag 20k pcs. On the other hand, a simple game like that should run smooth on low and stable on high settings even on 50% less powerful setups. Consider that you'll play smoothly only when you receive well coded and optimized product. Anything out of these prerequisites is band-aiding poor product quality by excessive power. Which approach may even fail with this game, under certain conditions. TLDR Don't build a new one just for PoE, only if you can utilize the investment by doing other activities as well. Cross fingers and hope for improvements and optimizations. This is a buff © 2016 The Experts ™ 2017 Last edited by torturo#7228 on May 21, 2021, 6:21:45 PM

PoE can run just fine on non-gaming laptops, you do NOT need an expensive rig for PoE. They do list the minimum requirements which are generous at best.
Your spiking and FPS drops is a known issue to the community that I suspect is being ignored due to them focusing solely on PoE 2. Whoever said you need an RTX card for PoE gave me a good belly laugh though, not gonna lie. Last edited by untitledminds#1828 on May 21, 2021, 2:28:15 PM

My gaming pc dates from 2013. Up to 2019 I had no issues with this game. It is just last year that my performance is degrading quickly. With each new league I get more fps drops, very long loading screens, extreme texture streaming. It has become impossible to play this game. So I feel your pain.
However on my regular laptop (2020) it plays fine. It is not a gaming laptop but it does have a pretty good video-card. After researching for GPU upgrades my country is out of stock on everything for more than 9 months already, I guess that I will have to wait either way for months up until I can play PoE again...

Sir, your rig is still better then mine (Ryzen 2600 + MSI 1060 6 GB + 16 GB RAM).
Used to play 2560x1440 at 60H. Works almost fine but drops fps at ultimatum events and shows some other issues, mostly textures after loading screens. The workload of the GPU seems to increase while the CPU idles and therefore i reduce resolution to 1600x900. This holds the GPU at around 50°C, fans not running and saves lots of energy (down to 30 Watts) @ stable 60 FPS. Perhaps you can try to do so with your screen? Perhaps lower to 1980 resolution @120H or try another screen, eventually borrow one for a day or two from a friend. Maybe somehow uncomfortable but if you can play then you perhaps will try this road. Your 1080 should do fine and, as you stated, it seems we have problems to get other GPUs at a acceptable time window or price that is not like a robbery. hic Rhodus, hic salta

To your question, I'm running a 9700k at 5ghz and an RTX 3090 and i get FPS drops to almost 0 pretty consistently since the last patch. I'm honestly not sure there is a PC you can build that wouldn't have these issues at the moment. Hopefully next patch will fix things.
