Is Impale ES dead because of 3.15?

I understand staff for block, but for DPS, why did you go Mace vs Axe? I was thinking about Impale in place of Shockwave for a 5th or 6th support when I can afford to run it comfortably.

I pathed a bit differently, I felt my DPS was still too low, so I grabbed Eagle Eye to have 100% hit and more crit. I know I need more crit. So plan is push dps until I die too much then copy your staff version. As I get better gear, I drop Alira and Diamond Skin. I was already feeling tanky, just did Lab, might go back and take Unstoppable first for pseudo freeze immunity and keep it till maps.... what does mess me up is being frozen or slowed with no cc break flask charges 😔

Wanted to add, without an ascendancy, I laughed at Corrupted Blood 8 stacks. Seriously no life pot needed. Is why I chased the ez to get regen nodes and the leech. Will buy a Wurm Molt or Anoint Spirit Void and try 5L/6L again.
