I want a damn death recap already

Sometimes white simple mob melees for 200dmg and all of the sudden hits for 5k dmg.

I sometimes wonder, that monsters can do double or tripple crit (critical critical hit).

I doubt GGG even knows for themselves what is going on with mobs dmg.
I remember from few leagues ago, there was a video of a guy dying from 1shot of simple white mob in HC delve (not deep, ~81lvl zone) with no damage mods while being super tanky char (~7k life, 90% phys res, 80% ressists, max block, etc).
The problem lies in the mechanics. Any time a "more" modifier is applied to something, a new damage packet is created. There's lots of damage packets in any given attack. It's not as simple as you think it is.

Blue fields are more dangerous (in my experience this league) than yellow and purple.

OT - a death recap would be useful (most times)

GGG made it pretty clear that since the vast majority of deaths are the rapid culmination of hits, they do not intend to create this function. If you die from a one shot, then you know. Otherwise knowing the last tick of some bleed dot killed you serves no purpose

Knowing the last hit is pointless I agree.
You would just set a timer like in the past 3 seconds you took
xxx dmg from xxx
xxx dmg from xxx
xxx dmg from xxx
The game is already doing the calculations. Its as simple as displaying them on death screen.

From a technical perspective there is one hell of a difference between doing the calculations on the server and telling the client the result and recording all the calculations done for a given amount of time on the server, transferring them to the client and giving the client a means to show them to the player in a meaningful manner.

It's certainly doable with more server overhead but that costs money and a lot of working time.
I still remeber how i died to a freakin single blue bear in vinktars map with over 6k hp.
And its unclear how much more overkill it did..

And its pre mob buff

And the best part is - when you come back to the same mob - he tickles for 100dmg on hit.

FYI - that's not what a one-shot is.

You got wrecked by multiple hits at the same time.
lol it's like 2.8 months into the league and people still die to t1 blue seeds

literally run behind a ledge and watch every projectile they shoot fizzle out

in fact 90% of the ai fizzles out if you run behind a ledge, harvest mobs just stand there confused

Why is death recap or "combat log" is a really hard to implement and sci-fi feature in this game?Even a 15 years old WoW has this feature. YEah sure the very last hit that killed you with 10dmg doesnt really tell you what happened BUT what if you could just check the last 10 sec to see wtf happened to your ultimate immortal 100000 EX character in a "blink of an eye" would make much difference. So yeah this feature is mandatory and required because its fcnk annoying to die in some bllsht nonsense all the time from offscreen.

PoE's netcode is so drastically different than WoW's, that comparison doesn't have any weight whatsoever
