Good idea with Growth and Decay. In regards to your gear, you've been wise and solid. You've prioritized life and resists above all else and even squeaked in some ES damage too! I think your next step in the "grind". Your next stage of improvements would be the "nit-picky" stuff where you're moving on from 75-ish life to 90+. But those aren't common drops (though you mentioned you're not SSF). Your weapon is great but there's stronger one out there too. Maybe upgrade your weapon first (if you're taking this reply and going straight to the store). Then maybe start looking at some influenced gear that would have some helpful mods.

There is only one thing bugging me about it. EE. I have the ball lightning and cwdt at the levels suggested, but I can't help but feel ball lightning casts too infrequently to benefit, and infact would be a disadvantage?
If RF is hitting with fire damage constantly, along with the other CWDT, wouldn't we be constantly buffing mobs resistance with fire with infrequent lightning damage?

Hey Spider2k9! Isn't it fun? I remember how surprised I was a long time ago at how tanky a build with RF could be.

In regards to EE, it does seem counter intuitive, but it isn't. As you keep levelling and as you get deeper into the Atlas, some of the battles will last longer. Against those enemies, try and look the enemy's mods. They change in real-time based on the constantly changing circumstances. You'll find that 99% of the time, they are vulnerable to fire damage.

Even if both of our CwDT links trigger at the same time, you'll find that Ball Lightning is naturally slower than the fire skills we have that hit. So Ball Lightning should apply last as well.

The only time EE works against us is if have fire damage added to our Attacks (Cyclone) or Spells (Ball Lightning). Then we're screwing ourselves.

The only way to see if it's really working properly though, is to highlight a Rare or Unique enemy that isn't dying quickly. ESPECIALLY one who is already highly resistant to Fire Damage. So if you find otherwise, let me know and I'll check it out.

Thanks dlvbrown1969! That's very kind of you! I appreciate your encouragement :).

You know, there is a lot of synergy between gems in this build for sure. But I find that I don't really need Enduring Cry that often...though I do use it against Conquerors. Using an Unset Ring might be your best bet. That, or you could replace Cyclone with a Movement Attack that suits your preference. Leap Slam, Charged Dash, Shield Charge...you could risk losing Fortify and add Flame Dash (without an unset ring) too.

In regards to your extra nodes, ya those work great! This is the first time this build has been without Juggernaut. They were hard to cut. Adding life to the build is always a great idea. Adding Jewel sockets is also a way to get more life as well. But I like what you've done. Good choice.

Hey Haaaaps! Nope, you're not blind. I don't say what to annoying. There are so many options and people are limited by which oils they'd have. But you can search in the tree for DOT damage, life, life regen, Endurance Charges..."Inexorable" and "Growth and Decay" is what I've seen people go for.

That'd be awesome Hlidskialf. An Unset ring works great for now along with even replacing Cyclone. I'm really excited to see how the game gets balanced to the power of PoE2's gem system.

Btw should Shield Charge not be able to generate pretty much the same amount of Inspiration charges as cyclone?
Hey folks,

i played a RF quite a few seasons ago and thought i'd have another go. I'm early act 4 and producing somewhere between zero and nil damage even with a 6 link via a tab. I've tried 6 link holy flame totem and 6 link EQ which is slightly better. Anyone find anything that sort of passes for damage?

I get RF isn't a beast out the gate but most packs are laughing themselves to death than anything i'm doing. Tried the first lab and it took approx 8 min just to take Izaro down first encounter. Second was closer to 15. Spikes got me before i could get the ascendancy but that's another story


Hi. Is this weapon "Doryani's Catalyst" good for RF? Currently level 80 and I'm just using "Nycta's Lantern"



Planning to slowly upgrade my gears. Or do you have any other weapon to suggest? I got lucky and got 1 Exalted Orb when I was still finishing campaign so I think I can splurge a bit on gears. LOL

found a workable solution. Tabula with earthquake, less duration, brutality, melee physical, pulverize, fist of war using a quecholli. Still not great but it's working.. for now
