Characters disappeared after linking Steam

Hello,
I didn't have an account on www.pathofexile.com/ so i decided to create one with my email, but that was after I already started playing the game through steam. On the website I decided to link to my steam so that I could plan better my builds and use other resources of the website. I read the warning pop-up, but I didn't think that the characters would disappear, I thought that it would just "move over".Now when i started the game i can't see any of my characters. Appreciate the help. Have a nice day. |

This can be easily reverted. Just send Support an email (contact support link at top left of the page) and ask them to unlink. Give them the account name and a couple character names as well if you can remember them, as it will help speed up the process.
So... just a bit of background on what happened: It's not possible to play POE without an account, therefore all Steam players already have an account here. Linking is not necessary, and that feature should be reserved only for those that started on the standalone client and later wished to switch to Steam. What Steam players can do - thought not needed to have access to the website or builds - is to add an email address to their account, which in turn allow them to play on the standalone client. " I already got in contact with support, and they already replied asking for information. Now i'm just waiting for the problem to be resolved. I tried unlinking my steam from this account and accessing it in game, but the game just acts like a new account(asking for a username, etc.). So, I think there is nothing else for me to do except wait. Thank you. |
