Why is gameplay still so fast like shown with the new bow skills - like insanely fast =/

So what is it exactly that you want? I'd recommend ssf to you but you don't seem to be interested in "wasting" 500h of your time to gear up.

You want to COMPETE economically but you want the playing field to be slow so you're actually able to compete. Like telling professional swimmers that they have to swim slower, because you also want to win. Wth.

Even if you slow down the game by 50% there is still gonna be the fastest meta build and there will be people that are better players than you (better reflexes, game knowledge, etc.) who will go more glass canon and still not die or just not care about dying, pooping more exalts than you and leaving you behind.

Decide for yourself. If you're a "for fun" player, either play ssf or don't try to compete with no-lifers with better reflexes and whatnot. Play with your pace and enjoy the experience.

If you want to be competitive, don't try to bend the rules. Game speed that is ridiculous to you is slow and boring to others. And minmaxing in rpgs was always about speed. Nowadays I feel slow if my character has to stop to actually kill something. That's why I liked the winter orb, cyclone and minions meta. And I'm not a competitive player at all. I just like good speed clear at my preferred pace which is fast for me but a lot slower than cutedog meta.
It´s not about min/maxing or somebody being faster or more effective but about gameplay feel.
Killing whole screen / pack of monsters with one click while holding movement skill is not what many players want and PoE used to be very different game than now.

I think the point being made isn't being competitive in the market it's being able to play a build and get rewarded for continuing to play.

Because so many chase items are so specific in stat generation in PoE you are very reliant on the market to feasibly acquire those items in a reasonable playtime.

Which is similarly why when people say "just play SSF don't engage with the market" they are missing the point that some builds simply aren't feasible in SSF because the market is required at a certain point.

It is not about being competitive or trying to bend rules, but when you keep 1 shoting everything for 3 hours straight without ever seeing 1 monster mechanic. Please enlighten me how is that fun or interesting in the long run. Visual clutter will be unbearable with plus gems and i am afraid for the future of playing together with a friend, or group of 6 people and so on =/.
GGG thank you for all the great things you are doing. You have combined every element of all other great Rpg's and joined them together as one Diamond, that will shine Forever.

This is coming straight from the heart <3

Nah this is faulty logic, you can make a theory that more people play when PoE is about going fast but you've both got no control group and/or no counter samples to prove that theory.

GGG rarely move backwards even if you ignore speed and power creep, almost every league is better than the previous and their content support is fantastic really. As a result you can come up with all sorts of theories as to why player growth continues.

When PoE2 comes out you'll see a massive player spike for a slower game, is this surge because its slower? It could be but probably not for much the same reasons.

Edit: As a supporting argument Harbinger is when they removed double dipping which was a substantial nerf to a shitload of builds, it also had a non timed mechanic yet the player numbers are substantially higher than other leagues at the time.

Almost like new content and/or easy mapping is what brings the most players in :p
