Is Faster Projectiles counter-productive for why we use Ball Lightning? The slowness of the ball as it passes through a mob means it procs more virulence? The balls speed was pissing me off to start the initial spawn of the Crawler so I wanted to use a Faster Projectiles gem, but I noticed virulence was stacking slower as a result. So I'm befuddled.

" I don't know the answer to your question but I think your guess is correct. I noticed this in the Ball Lightning wiki for Slower Projectiles so it is possible the opposite is true for faster projectiles. Slower Projectiles Support increases the amount of time the enemy spends within the ball's area of effect, resulting in a higher potential number of lightning strikes per cast. The two most common supports people use for Ball Lighting are Faster Casting or GMP. I absolutely love it with GMP. It is nearly impossible not to hit something and proc virulence very fast. Why is my crawler not proccing with the poison gem? But works with lesser poison gem.

" Poison gem is misleading. You need something to stack virulence with, and that's why we take the Circle of Nostalgia. If it's too expensive just grab one that has decent reduced Mana reservation that's the main goal on it. And to proc the crawler. Until you get the ring you should use lesser poison instead of poison. |

" The poison support gem does not actually add any poison to damage. It enhances poison damage. For the crawler to proc, some one needs to add poison damage. Early in the game, Lesser Poison adds the poison damage you need. Later in the game, your ring will provide the poison damage and you can switch to Poison support. |

(none are on the market to compare) holy hell. :) I am certainly playing at the kiddie table :) By the way, according to POB his resistances are already capped except for needing a tiny bit more fire.
