Just started playing, should I buy something from the shop?

Hi,

I just got into POE and have a lot of fun so far. I am really slow tho, only Act 4 at around 30h playtime. I am not using a build guide, want to see how far I can get until I am gettin destroyed by the game :D.


Should I consider buying anything right now? I was thinking about it because of the current sale. If so, what should I get? Was thinking about the First Blood Pack but what to get with the 200 Points?

P.S : try HC you'll love it even more

First Blood is a good pack. Use your coins to buy a currency tab for sure. After that, opinions differ as to what you should do with the coin. I'd save them until I knew what suited me best.

at this point i wouldnt get anything,first finish act 10 and see if you still like the game. but if you're going to buy anything then get the currency tab,its a must if you're going to stick with this game.

Take a look at my badges, after all this money i spend, about 70% of points i've got has been used on additional tabs: premium tabs, later special tabs and quad tabs.

If you really like this game prepare yourself for spending much more than 20$ just to get enough storage space to feel comfortable.

Ignoring stash tabs, you can get some mtx armour sets from 60$ supporter packs. I don't recommend buying any visuals mtx changing your character appearance because you won't notice them while mapping (phasing; or simply because too much happen at once).
If you want to buy something that isnt storage space i suggest skill effects. Especially mtx that changes herald effects.

ya at this point i wouldn't spend a dime. keep with the game and see how it feels in a week or twos time. don't get sucked into the lust of excitement too easily.

but stash tabs are enormously good to have. currency, fragment, map, divination, and essence tabs.

there is also a stash tab sale every 3 weeks, to don't fret about missing out on this one

Id play it for as long as you can with the free tabs to make sure its for you.

If you decide to spend money Id strongly advise using it to purchase stash tabs when they are on sale like they are currently.

The game will be very difficult to play w/o at least a currency and a map tab. After those Id go Divination, fragment, essence.

If you purchase a $60 supporter pack you will have 550 points, which is more than enough to purchase all of the specialty tabs and then some. Plus you get some other cosmetic goodies.

Sales like this one come around every couple of months or so. So if you want to wait it should not be a big deal

If you are ready to pull the trigger now I would go with what Shagsbeard said. Though I would add that you want to upgrade at least one tab to be a premium tab so you can use the built in trade system to sell stuff.

I was not aware that sales are so frequent. I think for now I am going to save my money and wait for the next sale to make my decision. I hope to finish act 10 by then and maybe get into endgame a little :D

i think they do stash tab sales every 3 weeks so dont worry about not buying it now,if you like the game you can always buy later
