exactly. i usually can't even see the monolith when it actually cracks. do if you guess the wrong side to start you won't know anyway.

i have said they should add a voice. that way you can not only know there is a general, but what side its on (if you get to know which general has what voice, and which each side looks like). and you don't even need to have the monolith in sight.

ah well. still better than it was i guess

I’m really struggling to find generals, I think no one stays at t monolith to waste time.. Some voice would b very nice, definitely up for that;)

The issue with the indicator was when it's in the upper part & your standing at the bottom part of the Monolith. The indicator will be block or partly block by the monolith from view & that's crucial since you need to see it split second before you need to start running around far away from the Monolith to tag as more monster as possible.

Hey, GGG not all builds can just stay in the Monolith & hit a skill & everything will be tag, some builds actually needs to move fast away from the monolith & tag as more monster as possible.

My suggestions;
If your sticking with this type of indicator, atleast make the indicator different color or tone & make it longer that it will be still visible even it's in the direction block by the monolith.

You can make the indicator coming from the top of the Monolith & not the bottom, so that it will be more visible at all direction.

You can just make it a string of light connected from top of the Monolith to the General, like they were tethered. This is also helpful to know the general direction even if your far away from the Monolith.

crack the monolith and you sit around waiting to see if purple effects appear from it. as if there's no countdown timer and urgency to get moving...

There's also a purple beam looking thing pointing to the general, you can see it on the ground in the above picture if you look at the base of the monolith
For discussion clarity sake with this image, the General indicator was the purple effect (green box) only, it points to the General's direction. Aside from that, the other effects you see were not apart of the indicator, it's just the character's skill effects.

i think one of the main points is we need WAY more audio cues and way less visual, considering we can't see what the fuck is going on anywhere anymore
Just came on to post on this subject. I've had them point to the boss. I've had them not show up when there is a boss...and i just had one that pointed almost the exact opposite direction of a boss hahaha. Back to the drawing board for this one.
This effect is just stupid... I didn't see anything even though I encountered two generals after this patch. Came specifically to the forums to see what changed and how to spot them.

Just have the army shout: "For our general!" when there is one. And somehow make clear where it spawns. This effect is not working at all. Like really really not!
